+20hp confirmed for LCI MY2025 M4 Competition M xDrive (G82)

As previously reported by ynguldyn; confirmation that LCI MY25 G82 M4 Competition M xDrive will be getting a power bump of +20hp for a total of 523hp / 390kW.

Nothing showing up in the system yet on the G80cx.
BMW will continue to offer a base model M4 LCI for MY25.
Power output for the base model M4 and M4 Competition RWD remain unchanged for MY25.

31HK - EUR LHD (3.0l / 390kW, Production period: from 03/2024)
32HK - EUR RHD (3.0l / 390kW, Production period: from 03/2024)
33HK - USA LHD (3.0l / 390kW, Production period: from 03/2024)

This is just BMW putting the proper rating on the car. Based on dynos, the car was already making that type of power.

I think it’s them trying to distinguish the M4 from the M3 bc it’s a sales dog. We shall see.

M3 will match with July'24 production when all 3 series cars get a refresh.

Source? I doubt this considering peak power is at 5k, not redline. Wouldn’t add more horsepower just to up the rev limiter

The peak moves from 5500rpm to 5730rpm.

I agree, upping the red line won't necessarily add peak hp. Upping boost or other re-tuning is more likely.

Exactly!!
I am sure g80 will get exact same thing g82 got.
I doubt this “bump” will translate into anything meaningful in terms of quarter mile or 0-60.

And the wagon gets a drop in power! Could also be that they need to try and keep sales going as the market worsens so they sweeten the pot.

Yes that is right but maybe they moved up the redline at the same time. The only limiting factor was the ZF8 gearbox if ZF have updated it with high speed capacity that might be possible to have an higher redline.
