i7 stuck in 'awaiting carrier assignment'
My i7 has been stuck in ‘Awaiting Carrier Assignment’ (Status 182) for over 3 weeks now.
The vehicle is already fully built at the factory in Dingolfing in Germany and is now waiting at “Cokelhe - Kelheim Export”. Does anyone have any experience/updates with this? It is supposed to finally get on a ship at Bremerhaven in Getmany then make its way to Vancouver, Canada throught the port at Halifax, Nova Scotia. Seems to be taking way too long… |

It is waiting for a boat whose route includes a stop in Vancouver. Waiting is always the hardest part. When it gets on a boat you can find that out from BMW genius and then track it as it makes its way.

My iX M60 (also built in Dingolfing) was stuck Awaiting Carrier Assignment for 4 months. No rhyme or reason for it, my SA had to escalate to distribution in New Jersey and all they got from BMWDE was that "oh, we never actually assigned it to a carrier". Good luck, but don't take any BEV sitting for too long, kept my iX for 2 months, too many issues and got rid of it.

If things take this long, there is usually a problem. In those days they were really apologetic and they gave me a brand me M6 until mine came in. Probably wouldn't happen that way today. |

Have your SA escalate to Distribution in NJ. I was told to do this by the BMW Genius line, they cannot actually do anything, but your SA and the General manager can push things further.

Im not in NJ, Im in Vancouver, Canada. The car is supposed to get on a ship from the port in Bremerhaven, Germany and get off at the port in Halifax, Canada. Then somehow it makes it way to Vancouver, BC…probably by rail im assuming.

BMWNA is in New Jersey. That's what Txschnee meant. Elevate the issue to BMWNA.

As others have commented, it seems odd that it is stuck at the port of exit. This suggests a transport issue or someone having forgotten about your car and it is just sat somewhere within the port's storage facility for BMW. Don't forget these cars get moved along by scanning their barcodes and thus all it takes is for someone to forger to scan yours and it just gets left behind and the barcode will not work on subsequent scans as it has lost its place on the transport queue. |
