Tips I've learned...
Had the 760 for about two months now and getting to know some of the little tips on operating it that I thought would pass on. Let's develop a full list. Add yours to the list.
- When you press climate at the bottom of the display to change the climate settings, after making your selections, press the climate again and it goes back to the home page or other page you were on. - if you have the enhanced B&W system, you can set the speakers to be same as the ambient color, otherwise they are just white. To set that, see https://www.7post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1983984 - When in navigation, turning the glass wheel zooms in or out the view. But even better, putting the The Augmented View function on the center or driver display makes following directions easy. - hand gestures make shortcuts to functions easier. There's only two of them (two fingers and the five finger one) to do shortcuts. Wish there were more than two hand gestures you could assign to functions. - On the drivers side door, the two buttons below the window controls the child look and the doors and windows setting on the center display. - The "hey BMW" is quite powerful and can control so many functions on the car. It also can detect if the passenger or driver are talking. So if the passenger says to start the seat massage, it knows to do the passenger, not the driver. - the interaction bar has the ability to be more than one color at a time. But if you set the ambient lighting, it can only be one color. The only way to have two colors is using the different drive modes. Not sure why BMW did not give you multiple colors at once in ambient light settings. |

Is there a way to get the driver's door to open using just the key fob? It'd be nice to hit a button from 10 feet away and have the door open when you get to the car. Also, my car is black and sometimes at night it's hard to see that little circular button that opens the door.

A workaround is you COULD... use a Switchbot Bot https://us.switch-bot.com/pages/switchbot-bot You'd have to install this in the car hovering over the switch on the interaction bar that opens the door. The switchbot bot is siri and alexa enabled so technically, if you installed the web-enabled switchbot over the door opener switch in the car, you could put it in shortcuts and tell Siri or Alexa to operate the switchbot which would open the door as you approach the car. It's not elegant but it would likely get the job done. I have the switchbot bot over some of my light switches in the house and they work beautifully. It wouldn't be terribly attractive since the switchbot would sit over the switch so when you manually press teh button, it might be slightly awkward. As you can tell, I like tech |

Holding down the lock button/BMW logo for a few seconds will close the door once you’re outside the vehicle. Unfortunately, holding down the unlock button doesn’t open the doors, it rolls the windows down (which has been a feature on BMW key fobs for a long time).

It seems that it exist two different keys for the 7…
The first one in english is an US Car and there you have a panic mode button… The second one in german is a swiss car, there is different button… and this button can be programmed to open and close the doors with the car key… So if you‘ve a panic mode button, I‘m not sure you‘ll be able to open and close the automatic doors with your key… But hopefully I‘m wrong… |

I hope so. It seems silly to have this door-opening feature and then have to walk up to the car, press the button, step back and then wait for the door to do whatever it decides to do this time. Pressing a button as you're walking to the car so the doors are semi or fully open when you get to it would be great.

Yeah EU cars got the program (diamond) button. You're able to choose which doors to open when holding the button (1 door or all doors or specific doors). I use it all the times. Its great.

In the my BMW app there is BMW Digital key Plus.
There you have the possibilty to open and close the automatic doors. Also you can remote park and move your car outside a parking spot... which is a funny thing. Hope you guys have that too. Perhaps you need to upgrade your car software... I got Version 3/2023.35. Here a video about the remote parking feature... https://youtu.be/sDU2dEnto3I Sorry, pictures are in German, can't change it! |

I saw it in a document somewhere from BMW or heard it in a product knowledge video. If you look at the entire piece you push, you’ll see it’s actually a large area that moves which is the button. You could push literally anywhere but focusing on the light is a little easier and pushing on the PDC button is just not advised, especially with your nail or any blunt object
