I'd like to know this too, as I am headed to Fla in a couple of weeks. Putting the car in Sport mode seems not to defeat A/SS btw, at least for me it isn't.

Sport does turn off ass
But it won’t if you adjust it so that the transmission is in comfort (I think it’s transmition, it is one of the engine setting within sport)

Yup, I've got sport selected for steering and suspension but not transmission, and ASS does not turn off.

Instead of using the SPORT driving experience mode switch...if you have a STEPTRONIC tranny...just pop the gear shift lever over into the M/S gate just prior to coming to a stop...and this will also put the tranny into sport mode and disable ASS.

In fact, if ASS shuts the car off & you'd prefer the engine to stay running or restart...just push the gear shift lever over to the M/S position...it will restart the engine and disable ASS. When you take off...just pop the gear shift lever back to the D position.

You can do this without having to look down and select the different driving modes...your eyes can stay on the road without having to fumble around messing with that switch.

I asked my local dealer the same thing, and I did a little online research as well. Conclusion: the A/C Compressor is not powered by the 48V Battery. Same thing with the Genesis G90, which I checked out out of curiosity for the automatic doors and all the splendid reviews. I do not share the opinions of all these splendid reviews... Genesis is well below the Germans, still feels like a Hyundai... In any case, only Mercedes (I only checked the GLS and S-class but I'm sure the 48V setup is the same for all their mild-hybrid cars) has their A/C Compressor powered by the 48V Battery - but I'm not sure how long it will keep the A/C going with the engine off. I sat in a '23 S500 with the engine off for about 5 min and the air kept blowing cold, but even the salesman said it probably won't last much longer.

In my '21 RX 450H, with the engine off, the hybrid battery runs the A/C for about 10 min and then the engine comes on for a few minutes charging the hybrid battery, and then goes off - the A/C is running cold the whole time. I believe the RX hybrid battery is bigger, so even with the Mercedes you'll be somewhat limited...

It does. Not necessarily warm air but since the engine is off it just creates air circulation - not cooled air

So to complete my answer above, I tested this out today in my '22 M440ix which I believe has the same 48V hybrid system. I cranked the AC and stopped the car, Auto Start/Stop stops the engine. The air keeps blowing cold for about 15 seconds, then the fan dials itself down a notch, still blowing cold air, but at a lower rate. Engine still off. After about 30 seconds (give or take), the engine comes on and the fan turns itself back up with very cold air. So the bottom line is that you won't get hot in the car, with the engine stopped the AC works for a bit, at a lower rate, and when it feels it can't cool the air enough the engine kicks in to turn on the compressor, even though you're in the Auto Start/Stop mode.

Exactly what I have been seeing -- also in Florida - but it hasn't been extremely hot.

In short, after holding the car for two months, the AC is not electric. And will blow warmer when engine is off - BIG SHAME - especially for us Floridians cause it is noticeable
