Remote Control Parking/ Remember Path

Just put IOS 16.2 on my iphone 14 pro but the My BMW app continues to show a message that this function is "not available for the ios version on your phone" and that the "new IOS version is expected in December and will then activate this function." I had thought that 16.2 was needed for RCP but apparently that is not so. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app to no avail.

On a subject I think is related, does anyone have any hints for using the "remember path" function? That might be good enough to get me in an out of a very narrow garage.

I’ve been experimenting with the recorded path and I’ve got it to work, but still fine-tuning it.

When you’re ready to record a path, press the Camera button and select record new path on the right side of the screen. Once you complete it press the save recorded path, and then I find it helpful to give it a unique name rather than the default name. When you are approaching the location where you started the path, press the Camera button and then you have the paths that you recorded there that you can select from.

I found the path only gets identified once your car is in the exact starting point of a recorded path. I’ve always pressed the camera button before that point, so I don’t know if that option to drive that pathway comes up by default when your cars in that location or not.

So far, it’s pretty good, not perfect, but I don’t know yet, if that’s me or the software…

I was so excited for the path record function! Then just before delivery I read that you can’t use it in multi level parking garages. I figured I’d never have to park my car again.

I’m on 16.2 and have the same issue with remote parking as others. A bit disappointed that bmw can’t get their s**t together and provide clear communication to consumers.
On your other question ‘remember path’, I’ve been trying to record my garage parking path and it keeps canceling itself at the end with the message that path is too narrow. Haven’t been able to figure it out so I gave up.

More on Parking feature:

Can I perform a parking manoeuvre of my BMW from outside my vehicle using the My BMW App?

Depending on the country of delivery, model and equipment, you can park your BMW with the My BMW App. Your BMW requires Operating System 8, the option "Parking Assistant Professional" (SA 5DW) and the Remote Services must be booked and activated. The parking manoeuvre must be stored in the vehicle. Please note: To perform a parking manoeuvre from outside your BMW using the My BMW App, you must be within 6 metres of your vehicle.

My SA told me today that there’s nothing to do with the remote parking. It does not work, and BMW and Apple are both aware of it and working on it.

Thank you! I glad to know it wasn’t just my phone or car.

This has been pretty cool to use. Does anyone know why they make tilt the phone forward and backward every time before using it?
