Coding

This may be a bit too early, but does anyone know if any of the coding platforms will be able to code the new 7?

Would love to turn back on the anti dazzle high beams. I coded it back on for my x7, and they were great

I don't think it's possible yet. This is being actively discussed in the 2023 X7 forum and as far as I know, no one has been able to code their LCI model yet.

Yeah and I'd also like to code auto stop start to be off. I've been watching the X7 forum too. So far nothing. BTW I could not do the anti dazzle with Bimmercode. That takes a lot of Esys work that is beyond my pay grade.

EDIT: Bimmercode responded to an email rather tersely saying they did not support either G70 or LCI X7; no indication of whether they will at some future time.

2022 BMW IX  [0.00]
As with the IX, there are likely to be only a handful of modules with offline coding capabilities. Right now those are the MGU and RAM modules, and even with them the pickings are slim. I have messed around with the coding on both and so far the most meaningful things I've managed to enable are:

* video from USB (MGU)
* Theatre "my mode" (which is on the i7 anyway) (MGU)
* full Rolls Royce interior sound set (RAM)

All other module files live in the cloud and are no longer distributed in ISTA update packs.

Looks like this is all in preparation for the subscription model.

I emailed bimmercode, nothing in the works yet. I did buy the cable, adapter and app, so I’m patiently awaiting for an update.

You may be waiting a long time. As was posted above:
"All other module files live in the cloud and are no longer distributed in ISTA update packs".

If this is true then ISTA becomes irrelevant and coding becomes impractical if not impossible. I read somewhere that even if you could code, the next OTA upgrade would wipe it out. The one hope is that as more and more BMWs adopt idrive 8 and higher, there will be enough demand to have somebody like Bimmercode develop a solution.

Well damn! Guess I’ll wait and see what happens then. I hate the auto shut off feature.
