Turner - ECS Spacer "Flush Kit" 12.5mm and 15mm

Hey All,

After starting this thread...:

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1857569

...and getting the answers and info I was after, I ended up ordering the ECS Flush Kit from Turner Motorsports, which has two 12.5mm and two 15mm spacers, as well as the required-longer lug bolts. The kit says the former is for the front and the latter the rear:

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...ront-and-rear/

I received it yesterday, and just wanted to share the unboxing so everyone here can see what they look like, and something else I learned in trying to find a place to get them installed.

I'm not very good at formatting posts here, so here is just all the pics I took during the unboxing. The spacers definitely feel and look like top quality. I also grabbed two pictures showing just how little a difference there is between 12.5 and 15mm spacers. On one of the comparison pics, I threw a Nickel on the 12.5 to show it's about that much depth-difference between the two spacers, though in hindsight I should have done it on my hardwood floors vs. the carpet so it is more accurate, but for now you can see the difference in these pics.

So now some info on what I experienced when attempting to schedule an install here in Southern NH:

I created a thread in the New England-area space here on the Bimmerpost forum...:

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1858542

...and no one responded...not really all that surprising...but I did so because I have always gone to Turner Motorsports facility in Amesbury, MA to buy and have installed, anything for my BMW's. Well, apparently that facility closed...which sucks to say the least, as they were a great group that did stellar work are reasonable prices. So, I need to find a new place now. So I tried three local-and-smaller auto/aftermarket shops, and all three literally at the door said, "No, we won't touch spacers/spacer installs, as it's too large a liability for us." So to humor myself, I stopped at a retail-auto shop....like a Pep Boys, but not actually Pep Boys...and they tell me the same thing.

I was trying to avoid asking my local BMW, as I didn't think they would do it regardless, and if they did, I did not want them to give me grief, nor flag my warranty for the rotors and such...but given what happened, I didn't see a choice beyond doing it myself, which I just don't have the jack/torque wrench etc. to do it myself and honestly, I'm lazy and don't want to do it.

So I give up and give my local BMW service a call, I explain my concerns and what happened with the smaller places I attempted to have do the work, and they literally stopped me from continuing to explain and they tell me, "We would be more than happy to do it, and we will not flag anything with your warranty either. We actually prefer our customers to come here for this type of work, to ensure the parts are installed correctly and to ensure as a result, your warranty is not impacted."

Frankly I was blown away and incredibly thankful. Only downside is I need to wait until the 27th for them to do it, the alignment afterwards, and hopefully my 1200 mile break-in service...but I'm at 900 miles, so we'll see if I'm close enough by then.

Anyway and regardless, all, I just wanted to share my experience with both the quality and look of this Turner/ECS Spacer "Flush" Kit, as well as my attempts to schedule an install. Enjoy the pics and let me know if anyone has any questions!

Ive never installed spacers but isn't it just a matter of taking off the wheels, putting some anti seize on the back of the spacer, putting the spacer back on the hub, and then putting the wheel back on? Is there anything else to the install?

Just about. I'm no mechanic, but my understanding is some spacers mate with the wheel in a way so that they ensure flush fitment. I saw a YT video on spacer install, and the said something along these lines…ill find it and post a link.

Go to Aponte Rios Racing in Newton NH. That's the team I race with and Turner sponsors them. Will is a friend of the owner Mig. They can help.

If you are running Pirelli's, your fronts (15mm) are going to rub. These flush mount kits are for people who are running Michelin's. Just something to keep in mind.

I have a pair of add'l 12mm spacers that I'm going to test fit on my car when they get here (I have the Pirelli's) to see if they rub. Another member of this forum has tried 13mm spacers on the front with Pirelli's and confirms they are seeing some rubbing.

Just FYI.

This!

…and thanks to another member here, I literally have, what I believe to be the best case scenario for an installer willing to do the work! As soon as I get the kit and spacers, I just need to give them a call. They are going to dyno it too 😝

I'm so excited for an almost 40 y/o 🤣

Maybe so….but I know for fact these guys are amazing and can make me reach my initial goal of making my car look like this photoshopped one from this post…i only took grabbed one of the photos from that thread, as the rest are located here: https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27312355

I don't know what the interior of that car is, but the outside is identical to mine…Tanzanite Blue, 825m wheels, red calipers…and I think this car looks gorgeous and sits perfect…maybe a little larger spacers, which I certainly have I think with the 15mm's and truly hope that mine does too when it's done…at least with these first mods 😏

FYI all, the Turner/ECS flush kit I first posted about in this thread will be up for sale soon...I just want to get the MSS HAS and 15mm set up done to make sure I'm good and don't need the 12.5mm spacers before putting it up. I know I won't and I'm being overly cautious, but at this point I'm being safe and not sorry...but if anyone is interested, the kit was obviously never installed and is in the exact same condition it was when I took the pics in the first post of this thread....feel free to PM me about it until it's up for sale in the member classifieds section.
