50iX or 35iX
Hi Everyone,
It’s been a few years since I owned a BMW, but I am looking forward to owning another one! I am in a dilemma between what to get here.. 50iX or 35iX Both of these have M-Sport packages and the works. However the 50i doesn't have the 19”m sport wheels.. Someone replaced them with another regular BMW 19”. It also doesn’t have sport seats along with a few other features the 35i does have. Below is some information. What’s everyone’s thoughts and opinions about going one vs the other. Thanks in advance! 2015 BMW X5 XDrive 50i $28,900 53,000 Miles Carmax Vehicle Specs: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/5uxkr6c53f0j76671 Manheim Vehicle Auction Inspection https://www.autovin.de/report/manhei...ng=en&lang=en# AutoCheck https://www.carmax.com/car/18736117/...KR6C53F0J76671 Notes: Possibly a repo, auction report states only 1 KEY. 2014 BMW X5 35i $24k 66,500 Miles Private Party Vehicle Specs: https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/5uxkr0c58e0h27272 CARFAX https://www.autovin.de/report/carfax...ner1LinkTarget AutoCheck https://www.autovin.de/report/autoch...ang=en&lang=en

Hello and welcome!
There's tons of F15 X5's for sale out there, does it have to be between these 2? If yes, I would say neither are heavily optioned but the 50i does have the LED headlights (the 35i has Xenon) which are popular here, and probably the most desirable, and rare F15 package available - the Dynamic Handling Package. The 50i also has Comfort Seats, which are a step above the Sport Seats in this 35i you linked us to. Based on this, I would choose the 50i between these 2. And I much prefer the V8, but engine is more a personal preference. And keep in mind there's lots of nice OEM wheel options available for sale here in the classifieds if you want something different. Again, there's lots of F15's out there for sale if neither of these work out. *edit - now I see this 35i also has DHP. So suspensions are equal in this case. Hi jiggz,
Thanks for your help and input! My current lease is up and I need to figure something out sooner than latter... So I found these two and I am leaning more towards this 50i. Good to know about the seats, not too familiar with the "Comfort Seats".

50i will make you smile more when you press on the gas.
My big concern with the 50i would be its history: 2x times through auction and sent around to a few states in the process, possibly used as a fleet vehicle. I know lots of cars come to carmax this way and they’ve had the snot driven out of them (not in a good way). The 35i has a cleaner history of maintenance and was a CPO at one point, only traded through private parties. You could probably call Irvine Eurocars and ask them about the car / upcoming services but given the mileage it likely had its big 45-55k services done already. If I were you I’d find another 50i for the same price with more options and a cleaner history. There are tons of them out there. |

classic_erik & TheMane thank you very much for your input.
I would love a beast. And I agree with the cleaner history of the 35i and the 50i has me thinking about it's history...

If you’re open to private party cars, then I’d recommend giving these two a serious look:
