20×9.5 ET17 front wheels?

Hi guys,

With all the talk about the KW spring fouling issues etc....

My question is with the above spec front rim and 265 tyres fitted do we have any outside clearance issues? Does this setup require extra camber etc?

I drive this car every day in some bumpy roads and don't want any rubbing issues.

Cheers,

It is an aggressive fitment that may or may not fit depending on how low you are. It is the same as size as using an 18MM spacer on stock wheels.

It'll look a bit aggressive without some negative camber, but it should work without any issues. Keep in mind that some tires run wider than others even when listed as the same size.

Also, the new version of the KW HAS has solved the over sized spring perch issue.

Depending on how low you are, you might rub with the 265. I ran the same on my LM-R.

The 265 will rub on the perch if you have the old AN part number. the 255/30/20 is a better option that should not rub

Dumb LMRs. You should've sold those POS wheels to me dammit.

To OP. I didn't see the 20" part and I was going by 19" wheels. Do as Justin says; he knows something.

Thanks for the reply all,

I should add my current front wheels have an ET22 in 20x9.5. With a 255/35 ive got 6mm clearance with how low my car currently is. So I'm looking at replacing the with et17 due the the kw clearance issue. I'm not wanting to run the car super low.

Unfortunately tyre choice here is limited due to what gets imported, not much option in the 255/30 space and I hate the stretched look! I have a 255/35 on now but the rolling diameter (being 1" too tall) is messing with the traction control I think.

Regards the new KW setup, it appears that it's a US thing, I spoke to the Australian importers and they cannot see a listing for it, only list the old P/N....if I could just buy the fronts as opposed to a whole new kit for a reasonable price I would probably do that from.... well Auto Talent, or another fine US seller.

If I can source the parts cheap enough, I'm considering going back to stock springs!

I should add, looking at V105 yokohama's in the 265... specs on them don't seem too wide...

Cheers,

Per Justin above, you can get the replacement KW perch that is slimmer so ET20 + 265 tire won't be an issue. A few of our customers run ET17 front with 265 tires, no fender rub.

Below is 20x9.5 ET17 front with MP4S 265/30/20.

Thanks, took a gamble and ordered the V105's in 265, going by the measurements the width is very similar to the 255 i have on now, if they rub they have the 255 available and are happy to swap.

KW importer here in Oz is talking to KW in the US about sourcing the parts I need to swap the front out.

Just for close out, I fitted the 265 Yokohama V105 to the front of my car with ET22 9.5 inch rims and the KW HAS kit without issue, they definitely run on the narrow side of 265.

You can purchase the complete new kit
#253200ANU
We are unable to sell just front
You will need wheel spacers even if you got new kit.
I would do some measurements and I included a link to help you out.

http://www.st-suspensions.net/wheelspacerfinder

Please call us to verify part numbers and it is offered in North America, The link is to our international site.

Wow.... what a great service!
