Vinyl license plate
This is probably a state specific question, but does anyone know if a vinyl license plate 'sticker' would be legal? I'm thinking a reflective 'exact' replica of the metal plate but just a vinyl sticker to stick on the front bumper.
I cant stand having the ugly metal plate on my tow hook holder and I don't want to drill into the bumper. Recently cops in Green Bay started targeting cars w/out front plates so it bit the bullet and put it on .

Lol reminds me of putting license plates on cars in Forza. I think it would be fine for a front plate. A cop would have to be a real dick to ticket you for that.

I am thinking the same thing. Also, if I am moving, I think it would be pretty difficult to tell.

We've criminalized everything in this country so I would be surprised if it were truly legal to do. That said I don't think a cop would notice if it were "exact."
It is a great idea though. You should take this idea to Shark Tank. |

Passing by, I'm sure it would be acceptable...but in the case of a traffic stop or upon further inspection, the vinyl plate may not be acceptable. It's an interesting concept...but is it legal/ admissible (in those states which require a front plate)?

In Southern California, they pull us over for no front plate all the time. Fix it tickets here give us a couple options now days.
1.) pay small fine, fix it and have it signed off by a cop. (cop sign off is a Pita) 2.) dont fix it and just pay more fine. (they just want your money, go get caught again dumbass) I think it cost me a couple hundred bucks to avoid adding a front plate and removing my driver and passenger side tint by taking option #2 when I got busted for no plate, only to add tint to that ticket too. So now I just roll the dice and don't care if I get caught.
