2024 G80 Insurance

I recently spoke with my insurance agent about getting a rough idea of what my G80 was going to cost to add to my policy. Two things that stuck out to me when having the conversation with her:

1. My MSRP is a little close to 110k. When I gave her my VIN its valuing the car at base Xdrive price of 84.3k. She said this wasnt an issue and to get her the window sticker when the vehicle arrives at the dealership. Is that normal for the price to be so far off?

2. The car comes up as a "race car" in the system and one of the questions required was asking if I would be tracking the car. Now I have a C7 Z06 corvette under this same policy and that does NOT come up as a race car..... 2 door coupe 650 hp vs 4 door 503 hp. The logic hurts my brain. Is this just my dumb insurance or others have this same "designation"?

That all being said it sounds like I can insure the M3 at around $1600 a year replacement value (110k) or depreciating value for like $1200. I was thinking of checking with Hagerty but I currently have my Vette on this same plan 90k replacement value at $700 annually (3000 miles per year limit) im thinking it will be tough for Hagerty to beat.

My ‘23 G80 Comp xDrive premium is just under $1,900 a year with good driver and multiple car discounts. Just for reference, my ‘20 R8 Performance costs $2,800 a year. The G80 is definitely expensive to insure. I’m in SoCal and we are used to getting ripped off.

I was at about $1700/year but prices here in FL have gone up across the board. Latest premiums $1050 for 6 mo. Steadily rising here in south FL.

As long as morons keep crashing them, and sharing their stupidity on social media for analysis...and they keep getting stolen, which they will...insurance is only headed in one direction.

I need to move to SD!
52 yo, no tickets or accidents last 5+ years (10+) and my insurance in the Dallas area is $4k on the G80.
Even though, it is a 6MT and no one in the household knows how to drive the 6MT, apparently, they all have to be on the G80 insurance...

Such a rip off on top of jacking up the premiums year after year on the depreciating assets...

Ive heard before that insurance factors everything in down to the city and county. I live in a "city" of 20 people. My county is tiny and wide open. Im guessing there are VERY few accidents reported here and I dont know if there is a G8X within 2 hours of me in all directions. Im sure that all has to help alot. I am 31 with no accidents or tickets as well. I guess there are some perks to living in the middle of nowhere haha! i still want to know why they are calling this a racecar though. The CS model I could understand a little bit more. I told my insurance lady that this is going to have a carseat in the back.
