Melted plastic bag on exaust G82

Hi guys,

Today I was driving my G82 and a plastic bag got stuck under the car and melted on the hot exaust.

I tried to remove as much as I could but there is a small portion left completely melted to the pipe.

When I stop I can smell the burnt plastic.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Flog it till you don't smell plastic anymore....next silly question?

Seriously, it'll go away eventually, best you can do is erm....help it along.

There are exhaust cleaner and metal polish products that specifically used for cleaning exhaust surface. I would try those with a small brush to see if it can get those plastic off.

Just let it go and it'll go away on its own

I would replace entire exhaust system with Akrapovic titanium system now. Only $6-$10k.

The rest will burn off and the smell will go away, soon enough. I remember the same thing happening 30-ish years ago under a badass AMG E-class - smelled horrible, then it didn't.

Yeah sort of but I have been on the board since 2007. So there's that…

Just sayin’
You do have more posts per day average to me. So factually, you post more than I do
