What features annoy you?

I can say I got absolutely annoyed with the approach sensor locks on day one.
I tried turning off half the system and left just the auto lock portion on. I turned that off yesterday.
Nothing like getting gas and having your car beep, lock and mirrors fold 4 times because you moved 5'.

And can you have the radio turn the hell off when you turn the car off? Once again looking like some D-Bag getting gas or parking your car. Stupid radio playing for no reason.

Rant partially over.

The proximity lock/unlock feature is definitely the most annoying feature for me. Annoying because it is useful 95% of the time - useful enough that I do not want to disable it. But for the 5% of the time that it keeps locking and unlocking because I'm stepping in and out of the range, extremely annoying and drives me crazy. There should be a time-delay function for it.

The noise on door locking or unlocking can be disabled in the regular settings which I always disable (even on loaners).

What can't be disabled is the horn beeps when locking the car while it's running. Extremely annoying, especially at night.

Agreed. At the car wash the mirrors just constantly go in and out and the car is beeping non stop while I'm walking around it.

LOL. Anybody who’s married can relate to fighting about stupid things. The auto lock on my wife’s X7 is an oft-visited battle ground for us and I refuse to let it go absolutely despise that feature

I wish you could get the track mode layout/look on the instrument screen without putting the car into track mode.

Apparently there's this issue that happens where if I press and hold the gas pedal all the way down for too long some red and blue lights start flashing behind me. Very distracting, especially at night.

Jokes aside, I hate when the "you're too close to the car in front of you" warning covers my HUD, so I can't see my Tach or the next direction from apple maps. I hate when changing traction mode or switching to M Mode puts a graphic on the main infotainment for like 5 seconds every single time.

Not having a way to shut off the A/C and just having ambient outdoor air blow through vents, without having to go into A/C menu and unchecking box.

The active lane keeping assistant, where it starts steering the car. Turned it off on delivery day.

I didn’t buy an M car for BMW to drive it for me.

When I wash my car at the car wash I leave the key in the center console to avoid this. I also unlock the passenger door when I do this so that I can get into the trunk from the back of the car without having to use the trunk release in the door.

Yep.
BMWs lane assist is too aggressive. I’ve never had a car fight me changing lanes without a blinker until this one. My Platinum F150 just buzzes the wheel slightly.

Yeah, this was an automatic "off" for me too on Day One, but I have used it a few times when I'm a bit tired or drowsy on longer road trips. It helps keep you in the lane if you're tired or distracted and start to wander (which of course you should never be while driving, but...)

I hate that I can't tie a "M Mode" (Road/Sport) to a M Button. So annoying! I hate that I can't have the M Mode "Sport" digital gauge cluster or heads-up display in Road mode as well.

Easily coded out with Bimmercode.

You can - it's just 'Sport' mode. Road is regular. Sport is the alternate cluster with iDrive still on. Track is the alternate cluster with iDrive off.

At least this is the case if you have 'M Drive Professional'.

True, but according to BMW, AC is supposed to always be left on to avoid mold/mildew growth in the HVAC system. This is from my actual service record on my X5 from yesterday (smell in AC).

Yes, that is a real bummer.

Rear seat release latch is inside the trunk. If I open the passthrough, then I can reach in and release the seat. Not a huge deal, but annoying.

Manual tilting/telescoping steering wheel.

Was looking forward to automating some climate functions/habits, but it looks like those were removed in 23 models with ID8.

It's kinda cool how this feature is coded away from factory when you order an individual color.
Yet another benefit of individual

The hidden feature of this car collecting water in it. Wash the damn thing, and even dry it off with a blower, and will still get water dripping out of it hours later.

Not sure about the M3, but on the M4 at the front of the door it drips for hours causing a drip line on the side skirt. Drives me crazy!!!

You don't have to wait, just press it twice consecutivly.

Yes, I hate this. It was possible to tie in the HUD to an M button in the F8X, but not he G8X annoyingly.

My gripe will always and forever be the auto windows up safety feature in Track Mode when you spin or slam on the brakes with an object/car in front of you. Going 10/10 on the track will make your windows roll up more often than I would like.
