Hopefully some/most of the aero accoutrements will be optional, which I think would tame down the overall look. (The wing on the F83 GTS was also a little overdone.)
Either way, yes, it's a little busy, and certainly aggressive. Yet I suspect the performance will be lofty (as will the price), and the small volume will ensure it'll sell well and remain a collectible.

Funny ppl wondering if aero, wing and deleted stuff is optional
Except for GT3 touring which is a standalone model on its own you don't see ppl crying about a wing delete on GT4's and GT3's, I mean it's a motorsports special, much closer to track than any regular M3/4 including CS (ClubSports) if it's not for you just go on with your life and pass.

Vents should’ve been there in the first place. Now the hood looks purposeful. And chin spoiler fixes the tapered look. The side skirts are ridiculous but the front looks better!

Looks are subjective. Going on the G8X forums and wow you don't see people saying the car they paid 80k for is ugly… that's obvious. They're ugly cars. The only people that disagree are bmw owners. Go on the internet any forum any YouTube video that isn't comprised of bmw owners and you'll see that everyone agrees it's ugly.

The fact that people think what this car needs is lots of plastic bits strapped to it in order for it to look good just means BMW marketing has u right where they want u … bent over, grabbing ur ankles, right in front of em

I could personally care less what car this internet person or that internet person drives. That said, I will still sporadically voice my opinion…which in this case is: externally, the G8x is a failure in comparison to other aspects of the car. When u trace back how we got here, it's a new selection of executives at bmw who leaned on someone new for their supposed design language skill/aptitude. In short, who they leaned on did not have the skill they thought they had. And now we are here.
