Latest info / specs from our future models info thread:

• Production from July 2022 to February 2023
• 540hp
• RWD
• Automatic transmission
• New wheels: 19"/20" with your choice of regular sport or track-focused tires
• M bucket seats standard, with upgraded racing bucket seats optional
• Introducing special new M headlights as an option
• Lots of carbon bits
• Alcantara steering wheel

M3 CS: production July 2023 - February 2024, steptronic, standard bucket seats, also lots of carbon things as standard. No power numbers yet.

CS and CSL will get new exclusive M headlights (optional for the M4, standard for the M3).

New M4 CSL closeup pics and first look at the CSL seats / interior. The carbon fiber bucket seats feature even more carbon fiber than the standard CF buckets. And we can now see a large CSL plaque to provide some eye candy for the space opened up by the rear seat delete.

Two separate test cars are seen here and an insider source indicates that their plate numbers point to them being CSL prototypes.

Wait where's the wing ? It appears that they just added a front splitter and a bigger lip spoiler appearance-wise. Given the CSL is the same tier as the GTS I was expecting something more than that aesthetically?

Why? The E46CSL had an integrated trunk lid spoiler exactly like this. If this G82 shall resemble a CSL, it is spot on.
Btw. the tacked on wings of the E92 and F82 GTS imho never looked good ... compared to a 911 GT3, where the wing fits perfectly.

Interesting, the lower spoiler and new stance takes away from the hideous front and makes it acceptable. I wonder what the actual Nurburgring time is for the G80. All hush hush so far. Old one did it in like 7:45 and GTS in around 7:28.

Why are M3/M4s so slow around the ring. With the engineering teams they have Munich they should constantly be getting trashed by the guys over at GM. The M4 has got to be able to keep pace with the Camaro.

How costly and difficult would it be to make a whole new exclusive integrated bumper for the mighty CSL model?

These don't seem on appearance alone to be very ambitious changes. No doubt early prototypes and you'd expect/hope for some more dramatic styling differences.

Unless M is focusing predominantly on weight savings right now with aero and other differences to become more obvious later? Other than plates how do we know this just isn't a LCI or even a CS mule?

Factory lap time for G82 M4 Comp is 7:28-7:29

Looks like a step in the right direction for a CSL (Coupe Sport Lightweight).

G8X is already rapid. Some drastic lightweighting and a focus on experiential should make for an awesome product.
