That’s their problem. Or rather their insurance company’s problem. Or worst case, it’s your insurance company’s problem. I’m assuming your insurance coverage kicked it the moment papers were signed at the dealership and the car became yours.

Start your claims process. Your insurer should go after the transport company if they want to recover some or all of what they have to pay out.

First off, frozen can't be paint corrected sooooo I would avoid that shop. Second, Dr Beasley's makes matte specific products and one of them is a surface prep which essentially is like clay bar/buffing the car but via chemicals so that it doesn't ruin the matte finish of your clear coat.

https://www.drbeasleys.com/matte-pai...anser-pro.html
https://www.drbeasleys.com/matte-decon.html

Paint cleanser pro is going to be stronger than decon.

Thank you for this

I actually spoke with the director of sales at Dr Beasley's - he was surprised to get a call from Australia at 4am (my time) - the paint cleanser pro can't be exported outside the US (not even within the US to California). But I have ordered the rest of their matte paint gear and an waiting for their arrival.

I should have elaborated, the paint correction process the detailer will use, isn't the usual gloss paint method, but rather using Dr Beasley's products in a controlled environment over and over again a few times (hopefully) without causing damage. This is done with the hope that much of the contaminants can be gently and chemically removed from the surface.

Then PPF.

TBH, it's kind of lost its specialness on me. I was really excited about the car when it was announced, but now, after almost two years of dramas, I'm over it.

Sadly, my insurer didn't cover the car while in transit. I made sure the car carrier had insurance prior to transport.

I think that Dr. Beasley's matt paint cleanser will do it for you.

Local dealer sent an expert to take a look. They advised it has to go to their repair centre for a closer look

I'm waiting for a date and time

Will keep you posted

Sorry for this happened to your car. Could these 'water mark' ish looking things can be the factory protection waxing that prevent corrosion for sea freight? I know it sounds silly, but have you try to clay bar or de-waxing it?

Here is one thing that I would do, to find out if those marks are corrosive that won't expand even under PPF or wraps.

The car was fully PD'd by the dealership and was spotless when I inspected it at their showroom.

Personally I wouldn't do a thing with the paint myself. If it comes to the car having to be repainted in any form I would not accept that and tell the transporter to replace the car. Unless done at the factory you will never get the same paint job as from the factory. For what you paid for the car you deserve a new brand new vehicle on delivery to you and not something repaired.

I'm assuming that you live a distance from where you purchased the car that you needed it transported to you after taking delivery!?

I live 7km from my local dealer but they're absolute egg-heads - I buy all my BMWs from a dealer 1100km away. That dealership has always liked after me but the transport company is an abomination

I definitely feel for you. That sort of thing (having the car come through with damage) was my biggest nightmare while waiting for my car. I knew I wouldn't accept a repaired car and knew the wait would be even longer as I initially got a dealer allocation that was very near going into production (just under 3 months from giving the deposit to driving the car home)

How’s it going buddy? Any joy? Has the car been sorted now? Feel really bad for you. So much excitement and then such a disaster!

Did you complain to the transporter? Has their insurance been involved? I wouldn't delay and in fact instead of trying any DIY or hiring shops on your own, I'd be making sure I get them involved. They can deny liability afterwards if the problem persists. Lawyer up if need be.

Yeah, I have a lawyer.

The paint shop is from BMW not me.

And, I have footage of the car on the truck exhibiting the grease marks

They can't deny it
