Went into production today!!! Now what is timeline?

So excited! Ordered 2 weeks ago and already in production. What is the current timeline people are experiencing now with past delays? What week would this be?

Who knows on timeline but holy crap that is the fastest I have seen from order to production. I waited about four months to reach 150. You are way ahead of the game.

Not bad!! I ordered mine 11/6. Went into production 11/11. Genius is saying it should be completed by 11/22. I think so far I got really lucky. Ive heard people saying they have been stuck on “scheduled for production” status for weeks. Anyways, From all the post I’ve been reading it should take 2-3 months from production completion to delivery. My CA is also saying by January or February it should be at the dealership. So I would expect yours by January or at the latest February.

Ordered 7/14 allocation was already at 112 Status, so I had an order number, that day, and it was scheduled for production, same day.

7/29 VIN assigned (Production Begins). Nothing until 8/24. By 8/29 the car was 500 miles away, at Bremerhaven. Sat at the dock until 9/8. Arrived in California 10/6. Stop sale until 10/14. At the dealer 10/18 Delivered to me 10/19. 1,117 smiles as of today.

Very weird question..: but I ordered same setup. On your my bmw page does it show the red calipers as an option? Mine showed red calipers and then switched to blue calipers…

I would contact your CA just to make sure the car has the calipers you ordered. My photo shows red calipers as I ordered those. I don’t think the my BMW page tells you the brake color you ordered, you pretty much have to go by the photo of the car. This is why I would contact your CA to make this simple change if your calipers are blue.

It should be accurate to what you ordered. I ordered the CCBs.

This is not correct, it does tell you the color (under Standard Features), but this is most likely a glitch in their site. DOn't waste your time calling your CA, they won't know, call the Genius, and they may not have an answer.

Based on your profile listing Texas, I'd expect 60-70 days from start of production to arrival at the dealer.

Every situation is different. My car went into production sept 17, finished october 1st.

Left bremerhaven october 11/12 and ended up in the NJ port october 22. Then i waited for the RAM stop sale to clear. It sat at the NJ port from october 22 through november 10 IIRC. Then the stop sale cleared, and ended up at my dealer, in NJ, november 11.

I pick up the car this tuesday.

The only issue you'll have is not just waiting for a ship, it's the stop sales.

Well I'm at the port now which may be the fastest I have seen a car built on here.. mind you, my car was a base comp xdrive with only added options of carbon trim and and red brakes…. I wonder if the delays are from ind paint, carbon buckets, or exterior package

I am stuck in quality check for days now so it isn't the individual paint as that went by quick
Possibly the carbon buckets or carbon exterior option I have. Either way glad your car is speeding along

Does anyone know how long does it take to get an allocation? I am in North Jersey. Put in my order on Oct 29th (last month) but I am still in the waiting line. 3 people are ahead of me to get on allocation.

The sales person has no idea when will be the allocation. They haven't been any help. Does anyone know on average how often BMW releases the allocation and how has been your experience in your area from ordering to build date?

I don't think anyone knows at this point. With three people ahead of you it could be many months before you get an allocation there.

My understanding is allocations come once a month and dealers have no control of how many they will get but there is some allocation calculation based on sales and size of dealer.. my dealer here locally was only getting 1-2 a month.. I was #8 on the list, and several people ahead of me dropped off and with in 2 months I got to place my order. When they aren't giving you info, it's because they honestly have no clue what they will get each month, and if there will be takers for each allocation

If 7 people get in line at 7 dealers out of desperation, it makes it seem like there are 49 buyers. Each of these dealers may only get one allocation a month, and it will seem like you are going to wait 7 months. But in reality, you get your slot right in the second month.

This is why positions in line must be secured with truly non-refundable deposits at each dealer.

I'll stick with my original guess of Ground Hog Day. It might seem a bit high but all those little delays add up.
