Where to mount front license plate?

I was once told if I didn't correct it within the day that I'd be issued two tickets for not running the issued plate and running the European Delivery German front plate in the front, sometime after the car arrived in the US. And there are a lot of sports car owners where I work that are (/were) routinely the target of front plate enforcement.

So it's been a pleasant surprise that while I come to a full stop at an intersection everyday manned by one or two cop cars with the cops standing outside, no one's ever bothered to say anything to me. I do see them looking at the car, and we just mutually seem to take care never to catch each other's eyes.

It may just be a matter of time. And maybe it's just that they appreciate a good car at a personal level too, and don't want it sullied with a plate in the front. Prepared to pay fines, but grateful it's not come to that. Yet.

And yeah, my front plate is mounted on the wall in my study.

I will go with a sticker plate if I end up putting one on at all... Has anyone tried one of these? The guys at AutoTopNL use a similar plate.

I was reading through this thread and just trying to verify the answer.

There is currently no no drill front licensee plate that works with Radar Cruise control and is centered Correct?

I want to run without a front license plate but I work on a military installation and they are not too fond of only having one license plate.

Double-sided 3M sticky tape. You'd need to look up what version is suitable for automotive use. It's what BMW used to stick the European license plates to the front of the car with for European Delivery. It's very robust - took quite a bit of effort to remove the plate, but the paint was flawless underneath. Of course, this is not really the best solution if you want to keep taking your plate off every now and then.

This is what my SA did for me when the dealership received my M4. Maryland has front plates and Florida does not.

Problem is that US plates are about 50% larger.. and also taller.. very ugly and annoying.

Agreed, luckily police in TX don't really care about front plates unless they pull you over for something else first.

agree. haven't run one in over 10 years. got 1 ticket once. paid it and moved on. come to think of it, not even sure where my front plate is...

Not sure how the CF lip installs, so can't speak to that, but I included a pic of the hardware you attach using the two pre-existing screws in case that helps.

My brother has that on his mustang. Came back to his parked car to find the holder and plate gone. Had to report it, get new plates and a replacement holder. It seems it is convenient for those with nefarious purposes as well :-(.

I absolutely do not want a front plate. Talked to my SA and told him not drill the front plate.

My wife use to work at the DMV. Turns out, that for $40 a year I can be issued just a single plate and a sticker that indicates it legal form me to have a single plate.

Its a no brainer for me. Swap the prestige plate for single plate. Cheaper too.

This would be Nebraska.

Cool how there is nothing United about the United States when it comes to states getting their money.

I went with tow hook. I can only tint my windows rear only to 35%.

I will concede and be a good boy because as much as I HATE the fishbowl and the front plate...I hate dealing with cops more.

Yeah, NH is tough like that when it comes to tint. Even though here in MA we can tint our front windows, anything darker than 35% you won't get an inspection sticker.

I'll be going with a tow hook mount on my front plate as well once I receive my G80....I already bought a rho-plate. I have one currently for my Macan (only used to get a sticker), and I also used one on my past Evo X and liked the look.
