Don't leave stuff in your back seat? If there's nothing there, book an appointment to get it checked.

You can change this in the idrive settings as it was happing to me all the time. Now I have no issues.

Interested in where the setting is as well. I get random rear occupant alerts even when there's nothing in the back seat.

I remember a time when you’d read the manual cover to cover before you even got the car and by the time the sales guy would try to give you that crash course of the functions on the car on delivery day, you’d be the one holding the class for him. Lol

The downloaded PDF of the manual and the technical training docs for both the G8X car and the S58 engine made the time from placing an order to delivery day go both much faster and slower at the same time. LOL.

Same, chalked it up to being overly sensitive. I also get random alerts a day or two after having someone in the back seat but then goes away. Oh well.

That setting is off on mine, as it's only a reminder to "check your backseats each time you leave the vehicle". These phantom alerts that there is something in the backseat does not have a setting to turn on or off.

Got it, then I'd suspect one of your occupant sensors is wonky. The red/green "people on the bus" display on the dash should show you which.

The settings I posted will work for the OP's question, however.

For real, although the only person that's even occasionally in the back is my 30lb dog in his dog bed. That's enough to trigger the car apparently!
