Yes i know...another allocation thread..

I have a quick question for anyone who has recently secured a allocation and when they actually put their build in. There was a gentlemen who came in a day before me at the same dealership to submit his build on 6/11 and a deposit that secured his allocation roughly a month ago. I was told by the dealership the next round of allocations (third Friday of every month) I should be able to secure mine. That came and went and I have no allocation. I put a down deposit on 6/12, officially traded in my car 8/16. Am I getting the go around? What should I do next?

Has anyone secured a allocation after submitting their build after 6/12???

You put an order in in June and haven’t gotten an allocation yet? I don’t think anyone’s been waiting that long. I placed an order in July and got an allocation a few weeks later. Car’s now built and waiting to leave Germany.

Shop around. You may have gotten a below MSRP deal that they no longer prioritize over people who came later? If they’ve not gotten any allocations for 3 months, they must be a tiny dealer that sucks.

As stated above, I'd go elsewhere. Allocations seem to be few and far between these days, but its now October and you've been waiting since June. Time to branch out.

Speaking from someone who was previously in your position, that allocation isn't coming IMO.

allocations are released first part of each month. So november allocations are out now.

as you know chip issues have heavily impacted the allocations so dealerships are getting 0-1 most months on avg. Also most dealership have wait list. I can't tell you about your situation bc I am not part of it, but I can tell you that if I were you or anyone else I would do the following.

1. call around and get on a few wait list at multiple dealerships. Remember you can get a BMW from any BMW store in US.
2. I would make sure I put everything in writing, i.e. get everything in email.
3. lastly just know if you have a allocation you will immediately get a production number. No production number no allocation.

and as always look at the whole deal not just the amount off MSRP. As that is just part of the deal. If you lease look at the money factor and fees, etc.. if you finance look at rate, fees, etc..

happy hunting

Yeah, make sure you ask about the .9 percent interest deal. Especially since you are waiting. I setup my pre approval, then found out about the deal, and they honored when I question why it was not offered.

This deal is also in place again for October. 60 day lock as well.

keep in mind about the locks when it comes to rates.

its 60 days for east coast dealers and its 90 days for west coast dealers. You will have to have your credit run in order to lock the days in. Also you will have to take delivery of the car within the lock time frame in order to get the rates locked in and you will have to pick which month rates you want as you wont be able to miss match.

They assured me I am first on the waiting list of 7 for AWD M3 allocations. The previous guy secured his allocation a little month ago. They said I should be getting mine any time now. It's just I feel like I've been hearing that for far too long. I'm trying to keep in mind the shortage in chips issue.

I'm not getting anything off of MSRP, just a convenience of a local dealership that gets quite a bit of M cars as far as I can tell. It was easy to trade in and now trying secure an allocation has not been so easy lol. It's BMW of Rochester BTW.

that's going to depend on the dealer and their allocations. It seems like your dealership has had very few allocations since August production allocations (dropped in late June/early July). So that's maybe 3 rounds.

What do you mean by pick month rates you want as you won't be able to miss match?

if you lock in say in September. You buy from say us, you would get 120 days locked in. So you would be able to pick from Sept, October, and November, december programs. You can pick which one of the 4 (120 days) are best for you. You can't however miss match. For example say the MF is better in one month but there are no incentives that month but there are in another month. You wouldn't be able to do that. You would have to pick a month and go with that program. You also have to take delivery of the car in that locked period or you will have to relook (run credit) again which would start the clock over again

Ah ok. I'm buying and not leasing. I am assuming that is what when meant on MF as part of the equation.

Is this for an M3? If it's for an M4, I can tell you that you probably picked the wrong dealer in PNW. I got my deposit in on July 6th and had an allocation in hand July 23rd with BMW Seattle. The car's built and waiting at the port in Germany (albeit with a stop sale). I was 3rd in line when I put the deposit down; but I vaguely remember the order queue for the M3 being quite a bit longer.

I put my order in the 4th june, as of today, my car hasn't been produced yet...even if the order was officialy in 111 status since july the 8th...... then moved to 112 at the end of august. Recently put back to 111...again.

It depends in my opinion. I'm loosing my patience but....the only thing to do is to keep on waiting at this point.

Your experience, respectfully, has nothing to do with this post. You are already allocated and your build is delayed, because of BMW prioritizing US builds over European ones (your own words). The OP has been waiting for an allocation for over 3 months.

OP, you seem like an incredibly patient person. I was on two dealers' allocation waiting lists for a week before I started calling around for readily available allocations elsewhere. I found a dealer that was able to get me a production number on the spot that day, and I went in and finalized my deposit. You should be inquiring at several dealerships, and asking them point blank whether they can get you a production number immediately if you place a deposit. If they say no, and they act unsure of when their next round of allocations will be, just move on.
