Agreed. This is the proper way to refinish the bumper cover.

sucks, sorry OP. I have markers on the side walls where the mirror should be to guide me. I've come close a couple of times, but I usually park it very carefully. I've only got inches of space front and back in my garage :-(.

I had about 3" total in my old house to fit my Duramax 2500. Had to re-build the back wall shelves so the box could fit under (#ABI). 4 years ago I designed and built my own home. Garage space is no longer an issue, and I spaced the 9' wide overhead doors so it is impossible for one car to door ding the one next to it (which unfortunately happened at the old home).

Same scenario happened to me about a hour ago. Do you guys have any Paint Shop recommendation around DMW area? Or do I need to take it to the dealer to handle this paint scrape. Thanks.

That doesn't look too bad - you might be able to get away with a good detailer repairing that to look decent enough, so you don't have to do a full repair / repaint. It really depends on how they are able to remove the roughness, and if they can source the paint (is a Dravit paint pen available?) for a minor touch up.

For what it's worth, there was another member on here with Dravit that had parts of his car resprayed in the Toronto area, and some forum members felt that the paint matching was off. I don't know if it's just a facet of Dravit paint or not, but I would see how to minimize the amount of painting required if possible - leaving it as a last resort.

You can literally take care of this yourself. See post 5: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...18&postcount=5
