Got the back of my door handles wrapped today. The front part is a cover and the back is a wrap. The keyhole cover is a carbon fiber wrap which matches perfectly with the real carbon. It has a more OEM look now with the clean install. I also had my detailer apply PPF to the carbon fiber cover for protection. Overall happy with the look and it contrasts nicely against the white.

Mine goes in shortly for full PPF. Been keeping miles off it since we get a lot of gravel with our salt trucks in winter. Only has 250 miles on it and its driving me nuts waiting. My detailing place didn't have an opening until the new year.

After dropping it off Monday, the shop owner called early yesterday to reschedule the work. He's the only one there who didn't test positive for coronavirus upon returning from the holidays. So it goes back for PPF in 2 weeks. So same as you, drive as little as possible, cautiously, till then. (I have in hand Dr Colorchip touch-up paint, just in case.)

I'm going to adjust my entry procedure to mitigate further wear.

I washed it and then drove it around in the rain and got it all dirty again.

Installed the WeatherTech mat and swapped the logo out for a purpose built M logo (colors look off in the photo - they look fine in real life, but the middle color is wrong, or at least it's not the current gen M logo color. It was purple several decades back)

I'm experiencing the same thing with my installer. He said he is short on staff and the weather hasn't helped either. He had a employee that was with him forb9 years and called in one day and resigned. No one can keep employees anymore.

Please, please do not drive the car. My last car only got PPF 3 years into its life after experiencing a lot of stone chips. I filled in many of those spots well enough but you'd see the outlines show up lightly under PPF.

If you'd be bothered by that for the rest of the ownership of the car, don't drive it. Or be prepared to have it professionally fixed (sanded, painted and clear-coated) and then wait 30 days for paint cure before PPF.

I know it took me a while to decide since I also love my brother interior but in the end the murdered out look won over me 😂

We did take delivery of the wife's F97 ('22 LCI X3M Comp) a couple days ago though… only 40 ish miles of seat time thus far but that S58 is amazing! I can't wait to experience it in my G80 xDrive. It's at the detail shop for PPF and ceramic coating.

This is what I’m worried about. I am trying to be very careful getting in. Kind of ghetto but I put a towel over the parts that will wear the most when getting in.

I'm afraid of wear on my regular seat base bolsters because I have to rest my thighs on them to swing even my long legs past the thick side skirts without hitting my shoes on them or cleaning them with the back of my jeans (uggh).

Like several people who actually did this, I'm now 100% I would have sold my car and re-ordered without carbon buckets if I had gotten them. For what it's worth, I was able to test drive one with the CB seats well before I ordered so I knew the pluses and minuses before hand. I loved the driving experience but getting out with the doors wide open in the dealer's lot killed it for me.
