New Delivery - Voodoo

Hi All,

After a 14 month long wait, I finally picked up my Voodoo Blue M3. Most of the wait was for an allocation and once it went into production it was only a few months til it arrived.

The Good
- The color is amazing, had to take a flier since I couldn’t track down a local one to check out prior to placing my order.
- Since I was patient, I was able to secure one at MSRP.

The Bad
- Even though I ordered the carbon fiber exterior package, it’s listed on the sticker and parts are installed, except the spoiler is just solid black. Can the group confirm that it should be CF? Unfortunately, no one at the dealership knew for sure and were looking at me like I was crazy even after showing the web site and press release that listed spoiler as CF when opting into the $4700 package. I have to wait til next week for an answer. Not the biggest deal in the world but just surprised that no one along the way caught it.

Sorry for the dirty pics but my plan is to go straight to PPF and ceramic without the dealership washing.

It is supposed to be CF.

If it says it in the description it should be carbon. Yet they all have the disclaimer due to parts shortage everything you ordered may not be on the car. You paid for the package go back to the dealer and demand a carbon spoiler. That is BS but that's a beautiful car enjoy.

Thanks guy. I pulled up the website for builds and press release but the dealer folks are never as close to all the details as we are.

Simple install or is this something the factory does with betalink?

I'm pretty sure you're not the first customer to hit this. IIRC some guy with a speed yellow M4 hit something similar. They got the part and installed it.

Make sure the dealer acknowledges that the car had a non-carbon rear spoiler at delivery in writing. Then it's a simple matter of getting it done, after raising with corporate if needed.

Thanks. The color is amazing, originally wanted Laguna Seca but like many others was denied. Appears like the dealer is going to figure it out.

Definitely surprised that an individual color with the longer process, went through production without someone noticing.

The CF parts are port installed so the mistake happened here towards the end of the process sadly.

Yes, definitely should be carbon fiber. The dealership should swap it for you. I believe they are using beta link for the spoilers on the 23MY cars.

I’m amazed at your parking skills. Looks like you have 2” clearance on front and back. Is that your normal spot?

The front and rear cameras definitely help, it’s about 6 inches front and back. It’s going in the garage, was just on the driveway for washing.

In terms of the possibility of betalink, has anyone removed an extended shadowline spoiler for another option? Imagine it’s not an easy swap if the port used betalink.

The saga continues and I’m getting concerned about BMW and the knowledge of their staff at various levels.

The dealer supposedly spoke to a factory rep and they said because of the extended shadowline option the spoiler isn’t carbon fiber meaning the only way to get it would be for owners to have the chrome exhaust tips. Comp orders removing the default extended shadowline and 6spd never selecting it.

I’m pretty sure I have seen both models with black tips and a CF spoiler.

I have an email into bmw corporate as they need to get their stuff together.

Rear spoiler is port installed? I don't want to doubt the truth of this but I have a hard time believing it.

What about cars that never make it to port? i.e. cars in Europe?

M Performance CF parts are port installed yes, but the CF pack is a standard option and installed at the factory. IE You cannot add/remove the CF pack from your build once the car hits 150.

OP, my 2023 M4 has extended shadowline and a CF spoiler. Yours should absolutely have it as well.
