Is it worth it with the stock exhaust? I have G80 Xdrive. Thanks.

Sure, you will get a little bump in volume.

For a little more you can add a midpipe and get real bump in sound and volume.

Do you have stock exhaust? If so, any drone leaving them full open?

I have the stock exhaust. I have the valves open 95% of the time. Longer highway drive is the only time I close them because I do find it noisy.

You'll get drone if you're at least giving it a bit of gas with the valves fully open at any point.

If you find yourself cruising and you hear any annoying drone, just flip the controller back to OEM control and it'll disappear.

Get the SST. https://x-ph.com/sst-exhaust-flap-co...yoc-from-2014/

Mike @ XPH can give you a slight discount mike@x-ph.com

Edit: SST is a much better value than the Awron if you don't want to spend all day running wires and modifying your existing plugs. Sure the SST is a cheaper module, but I doubt the Awron's BOM is much higher than SST's. The "time to compare" is 15 min plug and play vs hours of installation for not really that much more utility.

Awron CANFlap. Professionaly-built modules and harnesses, OEM integration and all operation through the factory center console button as if it were offered by BMW.

Take some time to compare the differences, the other kits use very cheap components (repackaged $8 ATMega32u4 Audrinos with key remotes) marked up with a healthy profit.

I’m loving the awron controller.
1) You don’t have to deal with a separate button or remote.
2) You can make it so valves are always closed for startup.
3) You can program when it opens based on rpm and throttle position.

Install will definitely take more time but it’s a true integration with the car as opposed to all of the others that function with a separate button or remote.

tom @ eas was a big help for the install.

All that said, you should probably get a midpipe if you want more sound!

It’s not just worth it.
It’s 100% mandatory. Regardless of the setup & especially with any sort of exhaust system.
This gen’s valve control modes are something else , they made my titanium exhaust sound literally the same as it would with the stock exhaust.

A new iPhone 14 sells even less than Awron

I have an SST controller. And if it goes bad in 5 years, I will buy and install a new one and still have money in my pocket comparatively

You'll need to hear it in person, i dont think a YouTube clip is clear enough to highlight the real difference but comfort is the same if you have the valves closed and sport is 10-15% louder with the valves open
