Passenger side mirror not returning to set position

Hi all,

Anyone have issues with the passenger side mirror not returning to the set position? I think it's happening after the car is set in reverse when the mirror tilts downward to assist with parking. My mirror will tilt back up afterward but the angle doesn't adjust fully to the starting position. Instead it's titlted slightly toward the ground, albeit not as much as when the car is put into reverse. In other words it's just not returning fully.

No matter how many times I readjust while driving, I run into the same problem again after parking in reverse.

2023 M4 for reference.

I have the tilt function disabled, it’s so annoying.

Not helpful but thank you for trying.

I had a similar problem one month into ownership of my 23; the only difference was that I could hear the mirror motor making clicking sounds like it was having issues returning into place. Took it into the dealer and it ended up being a faulty motor which they replaced under warranty. Mirror has been working fine since.

Same problem but with the driver’s side mirror. It doesn’t always set back to the appropriate position after my wife or I drive using separate keys.

No issue on my car - tilt on reverse enabled or not. I think you'd need to take it in for a warranty repair on the mirror motor.

I think you’re right about that. I was hoping it was a common issue with an easy fix/automatic calibration.

If you moved your mirror and didn't save you seat setting again it will move back every time you get in the car.

Ahh this might be it! I also switch between my memory seat settings when getting in and out of the car too.. thanks I try to reset them once I have the mirror repositioned.
