Who knows what about this car? At this point in time it's all speculation.

IMO this is the CS and it will not be much lighter, just faster and more track tuned/oriented. I believe the CSL will come later and will be lighter (and will substitute the GTS badge)

Presence of roll cage indicates otherwise re: this being CS

Also notice the titanium exhaust on the blue car (lightweight). My bet is that the CSL will be launched in time for BMW M's 50th anniversary in 2022 😉👌 |

Roll Cage with no rear seats? Looks like the business.

Roll bar. Nice/interesting. what will be the intended scope of use, M?
Do it all the way, with the required durability and componentry for uncompromised and extended track use out the box, or make it clearly a lightweight street-focused car fellas. Blackwings underwent 12 and 24 hr track validation testing. If it's going to be a factory track car, let Spengler, Krohn, Edwards and co. try to break it, make sure it's the real deal, and on more than just the Nordschleife...

If it's a roll cage I'm calling it.

Id love to see it but my problem, like the earlier M4 CS, will be the price to benefit ratio...I can no longer dream of a new 911 GTS, the M5 CS and I'm sure the new M4 CSL will be just as rich.. I know, quit whining and just get a second job lol

Does anyone know if there is any way to get the VIN from the registration plate? For example here in Victoria you can jump on our department of Transport website, put a number plate in and it will show you VIN, Engine, Compliance date etc

In most applications, roll cage actually adds weight. Just as a reference the total weight of the rear seats in M2/M3/M4 is roughly 50-55lbs (the rear seat bottom and back together weighed around 52lbs in my M2C).

Agreed. I was just going to say the same... does the CS have a cage in other models?
