Good read thanks for posting.
Too much being made of his "get used to it" comment. I think it's a broader comment about how sometimes it takes time to accept and adapt to change. I think the G8x will sell fine...lots of buyers will be excited about owning something bold, aggressive and/or "controversial". Is it enough buyers to replace BMW loyalists that will pass on an M3 for the first time? We'll find out soon enough. But this isn't going to put BMW out of business. And if the big grills don't sell well, BMW will adapt and change and we'll all move on with our lives and find something new to bitch about. Win/win.

They have just found a niche and exploited the diesel scandals. If not adapted, this strategy will not be successful for a long period of time |

Absolutely love the M2C, but it's not a sport car. It's a fantastic sporty coupe that does it all for ME. I am now interested in experiencing the BMW icon - the next M3 (G80) iteration. . . I believe it will be a brilliant driving machine! ///AVM |

"Question: Some BMW fans, as their comments on social media show, are appalled by the huge BMW kidneys that adorn the front of new models. What to make of the new Munich opulence ?

So far only Volkswagen know and agreed how "dangerous" Tesla can be for the German Manufacturer. It's not about cars anymore but mobility and lifestyle... |

Image in an alternate universe, they came up with the new M3/4 that looked awesome and the majority actually liked/loved, would they still have to spend so much energy telling people to get used to it? Doesn't the fact that they have to keep reiterating this, shows the errors in their ways?
At what point will they admit this design direction was not a good idea? Only when after the first adapters/"must get new" people get their cars and the sells drop off? Being the only manufacturer that offers a 6MT RWD car is not enough incentive for a buyer to ignore this design blunder. |

DeepL to the rescue (also stands it ground compared to Google Translate and Google Translate Web).
Of course German classes at school as teenager also helps.

If anything, the availability of AWD alone will move a lot of cars in the US. There are so many people that insist they need AWD to drive through those 3 snowstorms per year... Last edited by chris719; 12-28-2020 at 11:26 PM.. |
