The F30 and F80 both shared the same lights and grills. I'm pretty sure the G80 will have the same grill as the G20 and similar lights. This is probably a joke to stir up the community.... or at least that's what were hoping

The grill is the travesty though lol

No, the F80 shared the lights and grills with the F82/F32, not the F30. Just as the E90 M3 shared the lights and grills with the E92 M3.

Similarly, the G80 will share the lights and grills with the G32/G82 which has been stated by Scott26 to have these polarizing, vertical grills.

lol it's different for sure but I kind of like it! I don't like the horizontal "slats" that remind me of my old B8.5 S4 but I feel it *could* look good if the execution is done well. The render so far looks busy so I hope it's better in real life.

And everything goes round and round...
I like the possible new design and it's really time for a major change. Saw once again an 8er on the street today, its front end looks so boring and normal. I always think it's a 3er for a moment. They should have brought up this new front end design with the 8er.

If BMW will come with a such grill, then, I will kiss them goodbye as a customer.

The good thing is that finally M cars will be immediately visible on the street! Gone are the days when I'm not sure whether to wave and greet fellow M driver or it's just 320d with M pack
This is M Town where 'too much is just right' :-)
Not an issue at all...recent M cars do look different already, a „M Sport" package never had the same styling for front / rear...

Agreed. I think the bottom of the grill will overlap the intake. Here's my shitty MSPaint. I don't think it will really look like this, just my take on how the bottom of the grilles will look. I think if the chrome surrounds overlap the black mesh intake it will look more 3-dimensional and less flat.

I just don't see that as a plausible design. Grill size/ shape has never differentiated an M model from a non M. If this is what they are really doing I'd expect the LCI for the non-m to mimic in terms of design.

Given the fact that the non-m is out now with normal sized grills, what's to say that the M version will be the same design but with Colin coming from the center vent of the bumper?

BMW has totally lost the plot since 2010. The only remaining car they make that's a legit BMW is the ///M2.

I say this as I'm leaving to go take delivery of a new X5 for my mother. Nice car but boring as FOOK to drive.

I think we'll be safe from this garbage front end. time will tell

The F30 was enough reason to switch to another brand. But a bland car to drive!
