Here's what the G80 M3 will look like!

Here's what we think the G80 M3 will look like based on insider info and our analysis of the spy photos!

Back in March, BMW insider Scott26 confirmed that the G80 M3 and G82 M4 will share front ends featuring larger and taller kidney grilles -- a la BMW Vision Dynamics Concept.

Recent G80 spy photos have also revealed the expected radical new front end and kidney grille styling. Here's a tracing of the styling cues seen through the camouflage (by member Mii).






Based on this, this is what we predict the G80 M3 will look like!

A huge change. Possibly the most drastic design shift since the transition from E30 to E36.
I think it's great. Way more character than before. You would know this is a Bimmer from a mile.

This might be unpopular, but overall I like it. This is less offensive to me than extra wide grills that go up onto the hood like the 7 series.

I don't know what to think. On one hand I think it's an improvement over current M340i grills and has a more aggressive individual look but on the other hand it seems too busy with all the hard lines front and back. I loved the days when an M car was more a sleeper that if quickly glanced at would be mistaken for a base series. Makes me think of this ha

agree to disagree - I feel like if you're paying the big bucks for an M car they should have some sort of presence as opposed to the standard version. Also another reason why people modify their M's to make them further more aggressive.

Like Mercedes does in Germany, maybe offer an option where the M bumpers can be replaced with more "standard" looking ones to blend in with the non-Ms.

I'm not sure what to feel about this render yet. Part of me is interested but I don't like the horizontal slats - they should remain vertical.

Oh please. That thing looks terrible from the front and only Audi can pull off that top to bottom grill and have it look good. If this is what it looks like then I guess this will be the first time I will not have at least one of every generation m3/m4 since the E30. The e63s or M5 comp are looking pretty good right now as my second car. BTW, I fully expect the m4 to look like a baby m8 and that will be a good thing.

This look is baffling. It's like we're living in the timeline where Alfa mimicked BMW with their Guilia Quadrifoglio to produce an Italian M3, then BMW decided that they'll return the favor and mimic the Guilia's grille, only in a twin-kidney arrangement.

Look, I get it, BMW's trademark was once elongated twin-kidney grilles, but what worked back in the 50s will not necessarily work in the year of our lord 2019.

The G20's looks are overall rather good-looking in my humble opinion, regardless of how many people claiming that the rear is Lexus-esque. Can't we just have a similar sort of treatment for the M models as what was done with the pre-facelift 2-door versions of the E46, i.e. still the same overall theme but where everything just looked tighter and more subtly aggressive and more Touringcar-ish?
Why stick a gigantic grille on the front? Is there any functional need to do that?

BUT, let me not rant too much until we see the final product. the renders are fantastically done, my gripe is purely with the proposed grille treatment of the yet-to-be-revealed M models.
