I suppose it's the latter but it's great to ear of someone doing exactly what the M3 is intended to do

I appreciate your initiative, which I followed-up on with a bit more info for those interested in pursuing. Tools required T25 hex and flathead screw driver Strut brace removal not required (no torque wrench required) Procedure 5 hex screws to remove on top of air filter housing unit (screws contained in housing, so no concerns about dropping into black hole at bottom of engine bay) 1 hose clamp screw to loosen (for disconnecting top of air filter housing from air inlet tube pipe) Two charcoal filters contained in top of filter housing (slide out pretty easily) Results LB offered his impression; I will reserve further opinion to each individual to form on their own. . . although, I would not have performed on G80 if I did not appreciate an acoustic 'boost' when performed on my M2C. ///AVM Pic 1 Top of housing unit removed Pic 2 Inside of top housing unit; charcoal filters in place Pic 3 Inside of top of housing unit; charcoal filters removed Pic 4 Charcoal filters after removal |

Looks like I might be spending my summer in the DMV and will need to figure out where to track.

I concur 100%, as nobody should anticipate this will revolutionize their acoustic experience . . . and most certainly, there is nothing to be had by way of power gains. What I do wish to add to that is my appreciation for some acoustic 'boost' - both in the M2C and M3C - only occurs when the engine is wrung out. Both running it to redline on the way up, and into high revs with aggressive down shifts. I appreciate no significant difference under 'non-spirited' driving conditions. I am not a mechanic, but I know these turbos love air, possibly explaining the 'boost' I appreciate running it up redline??? I assume the engine 'sucks air' - or otherwise likes to move a lot of air - on aggressive downshifts as well? Smarter forum members than myself can confirm or refute my impression as to how/when these vehicles 'breath,' and in attempt to explain the SUBTLE difference appreciated with the charcoal filters removed. ///AVM P.S. Before anyone PMs or frankly states something in a post about wringing out my new vehicle . . . yes, I am one of those individuals who believes a new engine needs to be 'driven-in,' not broken-in. |

The steering wheel in the G8X is the same as the X5/6M, M8, etc. correct? If so, has BMW come out with an alcantara wheel for those cars?

I paid for it today. Now I just need the actual car.
The finance guy was politely subtly upset that I turned down all of his offers.

Installed the BMS clutch stop. 5-minute install. Glad the access to the stock clutch stop is easily accessible and doesn't require any removal of panels or wiring as the website said. Included pics of the stock versus BMS clutch stop, as well as an installed pic:

I've been running it for a while. With all the spacers in, the engagement point comes on pretty much right away, but you're still well past it with the pedal to the floor. It doesn't leave a lot of room for sloppy clutch work, but it feels CORRECT.
