Air intake for the track? Is it good?

Hello.

What do you think about to use an additional intake system for the track? Without stages, just for air boost.

I Pondered about Eventuri intake system but may be light variant AutoTecknic Carbon Intake Air Duct Set will be better for car in stock (no stages).

Does it give something useful to the engine when racing? I don't think that an additional intake system needs on the track, but I'm not sure about that.

They sure poured it on thick with their marketing. Nothing objective or quantifiable stated in the description. Well they did reference 3500 rpm

“The throttle becomes more responsive, with increased acceleration and torque evident from 3500 RPM to the redline. The gear shift sound from the exhaust becomes more resonant, and at mid to high speeds, the exhaust note gains a substantial depth compared to the original factory exhaust.

Elevate your ride with an unmistakable intake sound and a fuller, more solid exhaust melody, delivering a performance akin to the precision of the G8X Platform.”

These must be the best designed air ducts ever! How are a pair of air ducts going to have an effect on the sound of the exhaust of a FI engine when they can’t even alter the sound of a NA engine? Where’s the dyno plot showing the “increased acceleration and torque evident from 3500 rpm…”?

Their marketing must be done by the same individual selling the used brake pads for $200 on here. Who buys used brake pads anyway……..

I do, but not for more than $50 (excluding shipping).

The intake noises might sound better, but you're not going to notice any change in performance. It's just a different material for the ducts which aren't all that restrictive to begin with.

I think it's pure marketing for drivers who ride quietly. Cooling of the air is necessary of course. But I'm confused about no any protection of water hammer in case of rain (Eventuri has it). And, probably, this AutoTecknic Intake quickly clogged the stock air filter? I don't need to add 510 horsepower for the track.

Your car would be better served on track allowing air to flow through the radiator as intended. This piece is nonsense, cosmetic at best.

These are purely cosmetic, and provide no benefit on or off track. If you like the way they look.. go for it. I have been driving these cars frequently on tracks for 3 years now in Florida (doesn't get much hotter) and I can tell you that no matter how hard you push or for how long these cars will not overheat.

Worry about cooling your brakes, not your intake air.
