Nice try. I bought mine brand new in 2020 for $80K Canadian ($60K US). Pictured below is one near me. There you go know it all.

Also the example of price you give is 1 of 1 on autotrader which is unlikely to be representative of its trade value. However, I would be fascinated to know how much a 1 owner 2020 F80 CS is worth as it's completely unique. All new cars with the exception of some exotica and GT porsche's make a loss. Even the latter do after a while. |

The car was sitting on the lot since 2018. Because it was that old it had to be sold as a used car even though it was brand new. There was actually 2 in the city at different dealerships. I had my eye on it for months. Soon as the leaked photos of the G80 came out which was January 2020 I made them an offer and they took it. Two months later COVID hit. That’s the story.

A little bit of research, however, suggests that a large portion of the aggressive negative comments are from people who are either new to the forum or who have a track record of only making provocative statements, with the apparent intent of invoking an argument and/or upsetting other forum members. Before anyone takes offense at a post or rises to the bait, I would recommend they look at the provocateur's profile.

It’s weird to think that anyone who likes G80 M3 would have anything negative to say about CS especially if they haven’t even seen or driven it. It’s awesome special addition of G80 of the car this forum loves. Most people won’t be able to get one even if they want and can afford it because it’s limited.
With regards to future price that’s pointless debate. We don’t know how market will play out. Any car that is significantly limited in production like CS in this case is going to have higher value then comparable not limited edition. Will it be worth more or less then MSRP only time will tell. |

I believe anything that is over 2 years old has to be. Maybe it’s a Canadian thing? There was like 38 km on it. It came with the full 4 year warranty. I also have until Dec 2025 to use the free M driving course you get with it.

Interesting. I didn’t realize ‘new’ CS’s were available two model years on.

When I started looking which was mid 2019 there was 3 in Canada. 2 in Ontario and 1 in Quebec. All were Alpine White. They listed for $115,000 up here so that scared a lot of people off and they sat on the lots. I would go to the dealership almost every Sunday just to look at it knowing nobody would be around to break my balls. 😂

Is there anyway to pin point what changes were made that can be replicated to an M5 comp to enhance the steering close to the CS? Or is it all just fine tuning from the factory that cannot be somewhat replicated with some aftermarket parts? |

The main question I have is whether M3 CS is successful in the regard like the M2 and M5 CS. Something we'll only gather from subjective reviews. |

If so, that's disappointing. Hopefully we get more journalist and owner reviews soon to get more insight. |

However, i think it will feel a lot faster but who knows. My reasoning for this is comparing dyno's (I know its not the best idea) from the M4 CSL and the M3/4 comp. Now, I have to take the only dyno for the CSL that I could easily find with a pinch of salt but comparativley from about 2000rpm the CSL lays down at least 50hp and 50lb/ft of torque more than the Comp and sometimes a lot more. So the headline peak figures are irrelevant to most as the car will only reach them on occasion. However the extra hp and torque in the lower rev range along with 4wd (which the CSL lacks) will make for a very nippy road car. Looking at the CSL dyno, the car seems to lay down all its max torque by 2800rpm and doesnt drop it until 6000rpm, the CS will identical/similar but with the added traction benefits - unless that dyno was a mildly modded CSL pretending to be stock! I remember back nearly 18 years ago when BMW released the 335i in 2006 (ish). I bought one thinking I had a junior M3. Then they released the 335d pretty much at the same time with 20-30hp less but much more torque. It was so much better on the road - i was not happy! |
