I skimmed straight to your post and somehow knew who the OP was reading what you'd written. He'd sent me a bunch of questions about the M Performance parts on my car this morning. Seemed anxious about every detail but not about the cost… yeah, I'd say check every box at this point.

Steel breaks do this also when driving on the highway in the rain. Noticed this on my F80's and G80's.

Ok, sorry. I could have phrased that better. You got helpful answers though right? I hope you are happy with your car when you get it, and even though it may have sounded sarcastic, I meant it when I said you should check every box. It's the only way you're not going to think 'what-if' later, given how much thought you're putting into this.

My current g80 (bought off a lot randomly) doesn’t have CCB

And that is why I’m selling it when my next g80 arrives.

If a car is optionable with CCB, I’ll take it every damn time. Especially when you spend big money on new wheels. Look and feel also is great.

Do it, and don’t look back!

Less brake dust, looks great, should outlast the car if you don't track it. I sell cars around 30/40k so I have no worries.

It's a joke on the car forums, so people don't incriminate themselves when taking about excessive speed or racing.

In my opinion carbon ceramic brakes are a waste of money. Braking performance is not better then with the standard steel brakes, so the only thing it has going for it is less brake dust and gold calipers. Is that worth $ 8000,- USD ? For me absolutely not.

Buy low dust pads & spend the money on something else.

I personally wouldn't.

Pros: There is little to no brake dust & they last a long time for street driving (not track). They look AMAZING with how large they are.

Cons: Braking not as good on the street, needs heat to get some good bite going. EXTREMELY expensive to replace if you ever need to, $15-20k installed.

If money is no option & you don't see yourself ever replacing the pads/discs then go for it....it's hard to replicate the look of a CCB kit. A BBK aftermarket won't be that much cheaper for front/rear....so in that sense a CCB kit from BMW is a decent price

I'd rather put the $7K elsewhere.

There weren't any more boxes to check, except Carbon Buckets, which I wasn't going to get anyway. Not because of the cost, but because they're too tight for me.

Sept of 2022? What the hell? The 23s will be out by then, and you'll have to order all over, again.

You forgot one big pro of CCBs: significantly reduced unsprung weight.

This, and unless you hate $ they're not great for hardcore track use.
As mentioned they need to be hot as do all brakes for optimum performance. Initial bite is better with steel when cold.
I usually drive out of my neighborhood dragging the brakes to get them warmed up a little quicker.
I have them on other cars but not on the M3 as this is what was in stock.
Had I ordered I would have gone carbon ceramic.
I'm looking at aftermarket solutions now.

Need to decide Carbon Ceramic Brakes or not (Right now)

Even under very hard street driving the carbon ceramics pads and rotors will last a very long time.
I drive live a maniac and have seen 30k miles on one car with very little wear and 50k on another heavier vehicle with less than 50% wear.
When it time to replace I'll do what I have done in the past is go with a steel solution from Girodisc.
Again hardcore track days are another story and I wouldn't run carbon ceramics the replacement cost is just to much for me.
In fact know several guys that switch from carbon ceramics to steel Girodisc's just for track days.
