Will Kyalami Orange interior age well?

Hi folks, I currently have a g80 in order in KO interior, but I am now concerned that it may not age well. I am looking to keep this car long term, like 10-15 years. Anyone out there that has or had an orange interior can share their experience? Much appreciated!

Cheers

Really depends on your situation.

Is your car garaged? Is it a daily and if so will it be sitting outside in a parking lot for hours?

If it is a daily you may want to do a full tint to help block out the UV rays cause that's what will cause your leather to age. If you're fairly good about keeping your car clean then I'd say you'd be okay. If you're getting the carbon buckets you may want to think about protecting the bolsters. IND is supposedly releasing one soon.

I've ceramic coated my seats and have some stubborn dye transfer I'm trying to remove. Had the car since mid September.

This is wear on the upper bolster after 11k miles

It seems to clean up all color/dirt transfer very easily

I've maintained white leather for 5+ years like new using this (and also applied the ceramic coat on kyalami):

1. Cleaner (use with disposable kitchen towel): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAAUAG0/

2. Only for spots that don't seem to get clean (use with cleaner above):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J7XSOLS/

3. Protect after cleaning:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CESR3KU/

This is all very easily DIY. You do not have to pay a professional (unlike say applying high-quality ceramic coating on your exterior after decontamination and paint corrected).

One question is whether it will age well in terms of wear and a separate question is if an interior colour that’s so out there could become dated. I think you will be okay in terms of wear given other bright coloured leather interiors have in my experience not really shown increased wear if reasonably well looked after. Only time will tell in regards to question of the look becoming dated

I had a Champagne Quartz F80 M3 with Sakhir Orange full leather and must confess that after several years, the orange seemed a little too out there for my taste.

It's not going to be a daily and car will be garaged. It's mostly going to be a weekend cruiser. Oh what kind of bolster protection will it be? Yes, will be keen when IND launches it.

Oh that's good to know. I am pretty good at maintaining my cars, so definitely will be particular about maintaining it. Thanks for this!

Good point. That's why I am contemplating changing to standard black interior. I've got black interior in my E class which is 7 years old and it doesn't look bad. But on the other hand I also want something different. Tough decisions to make. 😃

All leather gets dirty. One way to look at it to have leather that is 'honest' so you know whether you're sitting on clean leather or one with tons of accumulated gunk. I used to have black leather but I'll never go back. Even with a baby in back, I went with ivory white for the X5. No regrets.

I'll give it a try with the brush. I used both gyeon mild and strong on the leather but the transfer still remained which was frustrating. I also put leathercoat on the seats as soon as I got it which is why I'm surprised the Dye transfer is hard to get off.

Did you just lighten the colors on a pic? Or, is that really orange interior on a G80 that had already faded?

I believe thats just an example. First pic is silverstone buckets and second pic is KO buckets with the leather cover that has only been shown in KO.

I had red interior in my charger hellcat. It was the first time I had a color interior. I was very reluctant at first and worried that I would get sick of it. I had the car for 4 years, Now I'm hell bent on never having a black interior ever again. It feels suffocating being in a black interior for me. I went with KO with full leather and I can't wait!
