2023 lci hud

Does anyone know if the HUD graphics have changed(improved) in the LCI refresh? There were rumors that it would update to come in line with the i4's but I haven't heard any confirmation.

2023 LCI M Mode displays

Hey everyone! Curious to see if anyone has photos of the difference between the regular driver displays vs the M Mode displays?

Haven't seen if there's a major difference in M Mode displays in LCI vs Pre LCI

I was able to have a look at it in the M3 Touring at the Goodwood Festival. I wasn't able to change the look in the display, but there was an overview of the different layouts in the menu.
In my opinion the normal mode looks pretty good and better than the asymmetrical sport layout.

I am definitely not being a hater, as I have the choice between my 2022 that will arrive in a week, or the 23 that just got on a ship, but I'm still going to choose the 22. This looks horrible and cheap

Smartphone screens are three to ten times dirtier than toilet seats.

But even smartphone screens are cleaned more often than iDrive screens on average.

In the rare instance touching the screen is the fastest way to do something in ID7 - like hitting 'Play' in the music app in Carplay, I use the smallest surface area of my finger. And even that leaves smudges over time.

"BigWorm looks at his cell phone screen in disgust... gross"

I actually wipe my idrive screen way more than my iphone. Now I feel dirty.

Off to sanitize my iphone... brb.

Absolutely. But still goes to show what a fingerprint magnet this screen will be as well as how easy it will be to see them on there.

That's why you still have the wheel to control the screen, once bmw takes that out you can complain about finger prints, but not now.

I can live with it if it means me having the ability to own this car in general. With that being said, I do wish the screen was extended more to the driver-side door. Maybe can fill that void with a phone mount or something. I dunno why....just bothers me.

I know what you mean, but I don't really see it as a problem, as the display is completely centered when you look through the steering wheel.

BMW really should add the classic analog dials option with silver rings or something (digital ones of course) as part of the tach display option list. Most of us would love that.

From the driver's seat, the screen looks OK to me. It just doesn't look good when you peer into the car from any angle, since it's simply tacked onto the top of the dash, a basic afterthought.

BMW will certainly start to integrate these screens into the dash in later generations, but for now, this is what we get. I'm sure it's easier (read, costs less) for their factories to have a single screen type to build into all their vehicles starting in 2023 instead of staying with the older, dual screens for some models. On the newer electric models, this kind of a screen makes more sense to me...but it wasn't about sense, it was about cents.

I actually like the way the whole screen is put in the car. Especially since you get way more carbon with it. The little carbon stripe was always something I disliked about the interior.

If it was integrated more it would probably look bulky.

I must admit, I hated OS8 at first.

After sitting in a G20 with it though, I have changed my mind rather quickly.

I'll still have to see how its usability is day to day, but the improved displays, graphis and overall cabin look is something that took me by surprise.

I look forward to my G80 LCI now!

Fingerprints on the new big screen is why I plan to train myself to only use the control dial on the center console and voice command....
