On the F82 the trunk lid was made of carbon and other fiber composites. Did BMW take a step back with this new gen?

Correct. It is now steel.

I'd probably spec it exactly this way… for a track toy. You'd be easy to spot on track; and BMW probably makes sure those aero bits are a NET positive performance benefit. On the street I think the car would convey childishness.

I couldn't afford this when I was 16. It wasn't even a fantasy because it was not foreseeably attainable at that time.

But here we are.. I've most of these parts being fitted either at port (wing, side skirts) or soon after delivery (front lip, rear winglets (maybe)). Skipping on the whiskers and the fake fender breathers.

I know it can look a little juvenile. But better now than later. On that note...

Thats how he was able to afford all of the Carbon, left the brakes out. I went for the brakes, left the carbon.

Were the parts added at the dealership? The M Performance sticker is not supposed to be on the side skirt despite being part of the side-skirt purchase. It's supposed to be on the rocker panel right below the front fender. Like in this official BMW M4 demo car with M Perf parts:

And it's the same way in official images for accessory purchase of the side skirt.

I'd be ok with it minus the canards and side and rear wings. It's too ricey with all those parts.

The carbon looks a lot better on that colour and looks especially nicely balanced on the M4 compared to the M3.
