FWIW my mustang had M14 studs and the factory spec was 150ftlb on the lugs. I’d feel just fine torquing the same size to 125. I remember people complaining about brake noise on the cars who hadn’t torqued to spec because 150 is a ton if you’re used to the normal ~100. Glad that resolved your issue because I’ve been hesitant on lowering my car with so many saying they had noises start afterwards.

Just wanted to say that I tried 125lb or torque on my lugs and I still click. It made no change at all for me. Bummer.
Im going to remove my spacers next and see what happens.

Yep mine clicks all the time when turning and pulling out of the garage and it's bone stock. I figured it's just part of flexing in the underbody somewhere

Has anyone captured this clicking on video? Like someone standing outside the car recording? I don't have any clicking - completely OEM setup.

Anyone seen a dealer about the clicking yet? I haven't had a chance to ask them about it yet.

This is very well known on the F8X and there was a fix for that. I had the same issue on my M2, so the Dealer knows what's about as they fixed it on the M2. But currently the fix that was applied on the F8X is not approved for the G8X (yet). |

Bumping this. Anyone else add some F80 friction disks? Did it help?

Hey, where is that BMW SIB someone posted that supposedly fixes this? I cant find that thread anywhere now.
The SIB was about replacing tie rods out due to a problem with a certain brand they used.

Bumping this. Here is the most updated BWM SIB about the clicking. They suggest the tie rods are to blame. I am friends with my dealers shop foreman. He said my VIN was affected by this, but he could not swap mine out unless I brought the car in stock. Im on KW HAS.
So for those who have this sound. Call your service advisor and tell him about this SIB and see if you can get the new tie rods.

Held a constant steering angle and speed, and I heard rapid metallic clicks. I’m going to try turning up my lug torque to ~110 to see what happens Stock suspension, Motorsports Hardware Studs/Nuts, and 15F spacers. Stock wheels and stock lug torque at the moment Last edited by thekevchung; 05-28-2023 at 12:17 AM.. Reason: add details |

Anyone ever figure this out? Just noticed the same on my G80 while driving through a parking garage with the windows down. Lowered on KW's HAS kit, 12mm Future Classic spacers all the way around. I thought I had a pebble/rock/nail in my tire but nope, just seems like the same thing everyone else is reporting.

They ordered me new rods for the front. I am sure that fixing the overtorqed nut will fix most issues however I am told they replace them due to possible damage that might have occurred.
This is an SB and how they could ever deny a fix due to lowering is insane. But you know, BMW.
