what's with these shitty floor mats on a $80k car?

As the title suggests, these mats are hot trash.

Extremely flimsy, feel like low quality, budget mats.

Only thing worse is the crappy clips to hold them in place. Audi has nice click and lock in place ones. What’s up BMW?!

M Performance floor mats are a nice touch. I did those along with the M Performance arm rest. Great combo.

This, and most other features and functions of the interior make me miss my S4. The M4 wins for driving dynamics, excitement, looks and of course power.

These new Audi interiors are heavy on screens and a big departure from Audi interiors of just a few years ago, not sure I'm sold on them but haven't experienced it firsthand.

Waiting on the new RS5 right now, or maybe the new Model 3 performance. Thinking of a swap later this year.

M3P is insane when you consider it's like a 45k car that's faster than these M's. Not to mention practical, cheap to run, has Autopilot, etc.

Yes. Paying extra for the full merino leather and close to 100k. The floor mats should be at lest m performance. The stock ones are cheap.

I dunno about all that Tesla stuff you said… 😆, but BMW could stand to learn a thing or two from Audi with the floor mat retention system and also the grocery/bag folding hooks in the trunk every Audi has had for like ever. Those things are fucking amazing. Luckily they can be retrofitted into the M if you’re handy.

My 2022 RS5 had just as crappy floor mats as the G8x. The pile is like something from a 90's Pontiac. My Q7 on the other hand has nice thick mats.

Does anyone know if the M Performance mats are actually a thicker pile, or do they just have a nicer looking trim?

^^^ The floor mats aren’t the important part. I pull them out anyway and run Weathertechs. The retention system is the game changer in Audi. Shits just snap in place and do not move. Super nice.

I think Tesla could learn a thing or two from Honda and Toyota where a cheap Civic or Corolla has better fit and finish. Just saying.

It is true , I’ve always thought this. My wife’s Lexus NX has nice mats, say Lexus at least and Decent quality. Wouldn’t be too difficult to at least put M3 or BMW on them. But they have been basic on all previous M’s I’ve had so I’m use to it.

Consider yourself lucky. The M4 CSL cost $145,000 and came with no floor mats.

Is this serious or is someone taking the piss? The G80 has floor mats? Too busy watching everything go by to notice.
