Just had my Millway monoballs installed yesterday. First impressions, some added directness in the steering, possibly more feedback, but not as drastic of a change as others have been reporting. Overall I'd say it's an improvement, but don't expect some dramatic transformation. That being said I've had limited street time and haven't really put the car through its paces... so normal street driving I didn't notice a major change. Will update more as I drive it some more.
One additional thing to be mentioned - while I was having work done on my car (H&R sport springs, front mount intake, and the monoball conversion), I rented an Acura TLX for the day. So my expectations were recalibrated - compared to the TLX the G80 feels incredibly planted with super responsive steering - so I'll need to drive another G80 without monoball conversion to do an actual comparison. I don't know how much of what I'm feeling is an improvement over my G80 before conversion vs. just expecting it to be significantly better than a TLX.

The only change Dinan made to their design was to incorporate xDrive, which Millway was already doing from the start. Dinan has never claimed they were the only company offering sealed units.

Unfortunately, they’re wrong as you can clearly see the rubber boots on the Millways |

I had mine installed today. Initial impressions are there is zero lack of precision in steering, dead spot reduced, and some extra feel. No downsides either.

I think I will be ordering This for my 2025 m4 comp xDrive
I installed Ohlins RT and am getting some bumpsteer (I don’t have alignment yet). But I’ll be getting the SPL tie rods installed so figured the Milltek monoball would be good as well Will report back with my initial impressions I went from stock height to recommended Ohlins height and then pretty much maxed out without compromising any safety |

What’s the difference in performance / feel between doing the monoball thrust arm replacement vs the SPL front lower control arms

Questions
I am confused, do I required a alignment if I install these bushings with keeping OEM arms?
Is there any specific torque to be used on these bushings when installing the arm? |

Thought I'd drop back in on this thread since I now have a G82 xDrive and recently had the monoballs installed. I definitely feel a large improvement over stock when turning and braking due to the lack of bushing deflection, but it's not as dramatic of a difference as I felt on my manual. I suspect that's down to the xDrive vs. RWD. Feels just a little bit lazier and less communicative than the RWD. Still, a very worthwhile mod. I just need to get on with doing the CS coding.

I am glad I found this thread because I also am not very satisfied of the steering feel of this car. Expecially when driving fast, I don't feel confident to enter in a turn without using a little brake to have more load on the front. It's like I cannot always feel the amount of grip available on the front wheels... it means or you slow down or you trust the car, close your eyes and turn.
Searching around, I have found another alternative to Millways: https://shop.suspensionsecrets.co.uk...-g80-m3-g82-m4 The additional benefit of those is to increase the caster angle at the same time of giving the monoball benefits. Anybody had the chance to test them? What are the other MUST DO mods to increase the steering feel and overall handling? I am still stock I tried wheel spacers but I really disliked them from the handling pov, as I already wrote in other posts. |

Agree and love it. But the install solo is not for the faint of heart. I almost wrote up a couple documents to share on my whole process. Since I've done it twice now, but I have not.
It took me a solid 12 hours of time to complete the first time, and that was with me having a wide array of tools at my disposal. Was it worth it. Yes for me and track use it was. Hope I never have to go back into that again! ![]() |
