My Individual Irish Green on Tartufo G82 M4 xDrive "Build" Journal

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
This is my 2024 Individual Irish Green M4 Competition xDrive, which I picked up earlier this month with 1,054 miles on it. While I’m not planning an extensive build, I wanted to document any subtle changes since this is a less common color.

Before this, I had a 2022 G80 manual in a very basic black-on-black spec, but I never fully connected with the transmission. I ended up selling it while studying for a professional certification in late summer (I had zero free time and the car just felt like a distraction), planning to reassess my daily driver situation once I passed my exam in November. Initially, I had my sights set on a 992 GTS or C4S (I drove both at private Porsche events at Summit Point Raceway and fell in love), but after consideration, I realized they weren’t practical for my daily needs, like transporting my dog or golf gear. I would have had to put my clubs in the cabin in the 911.

That led me to consider the G82. At first it felt a little bit like buying the same car twice, but I quickly realized just how different the G80/G82 manual and xDrive are. Aside from the engine note and the familiar interior, they really don’t feel similar at all. I knew the xDrive would make a perfect sporty daily driver. I planned to order a 2025 model but came across this car and couldn’t pass it up.

The vision for this car is a “gentleman’s daily”—classy and understated (unlike my wife’s individual Signal Green X5M). No loud exhaust, extreme mods, or anything too aggressive. It needs to stay refined enough to pick up a client for lunch without being over the top.

I must give a shout-out to AhsanU – he picked me up from the rental car drop-off and drove me to the dealership and helped inspect the car. His beautiful Tartufo bucket seats reminded me that I made the right choice with the comfort seats!

Since I’ve had the car, I swapped the Pirelli summers on the bi-color 825Ms for Continental DWS 06+ all-seasons (my “winter” setup), bought Ahsan’s silver 825Ms (my summer setup), and had the car tinted by Speed & Tech Motoring. RJ at Speed & Tech also fixed a small area of PPF on the front bumper that was coming up.

Planned Mods:

Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs (trying not to go too low)
Future Classic 12mm F/R spacers
Millway Monoball kit (had this on my G80 – it’s a must)
Carbahn rear link kit
SST Valve Controller
Paint-matched reflectors
M Performance carbon fiber lip
Dinan CF intakes
CF Strut Brace
Color-matched engine cover

You can follow me on IG at @par__m3 (still need to change my handle at some point)

Edit: some of you noticed that the dash storage door is wrapped in leather (not standard.) I didn't notice it until just now. Here are some additional pics. Very close match to OEM. Whoever the original owner used to do this did a great job.

Beautiful spec; I purchased a fully loaded CPO 21’ M440i in San Remo Green and cognac guts for my daily with this exact spec/buildout in mind. Love the greens BMW offers 🤝🤝

Looks awesome!

It also looks like the previous owner upholstered the door under the light switch. How does it match?

I absolutely love the specs but in my personal opinion a sedan or SUV is a better car for possibly carrying clients, depending on your career field I guess. M3 in the same combo would be my preferred choice but again just my opinion, gorgeous car, enjoy it.

Great pics. If you could have ordered your car would you have gotten bucket seats? I went back and forth between bucket seats and sports seats for my 2025 order that is coming next year and ultimately picked the sport seats.

I actually didn’t realize this until just now. My X5M has the leather door so I just assumed this was OEM. Guess that tells you how good the match is!

I don’t disagree, but it’s not something I’m doing often enough to where it would make sense for me to daily a sedan or SUV. I really wanted to be back in two doors and already owned a G80 so I didn’t want to do that again.

If it was a weekend fun car I would 100% order buckets. But for daily driving, I would go for the sports. Ingress/egresss is so much easier and they are still nice. It is a polarizing topic but ultimately you need to try both and make the decision that’s right for you.

Yeah mine will be a daily driver so I decided with going with the sports seats.

Took some pictures of the dash storage compartment door that the original owner wrapped in leather to match. Very close to OEM. I didn't notice it wasn't factory standard until it was brought to my attention.
