I don’t see how gloves are going to help driving to work or even “fun” drive on mountain road. As far as power in todays day and age it’s not that unusual. EVs coming out with ridiculous power and speed. |

If you do have sweaty hands, I can see wearing gloves if you were tracking, autocrossing or going on a long canyon / backroad drive where wiping your hands on a towel or your pants would be an issue.
Otherwise, from someone else with sweaty palms.....why would you wear gloves? |

For what it's worth I have never worn gloves on the track either (even though I do own a pair). Last edited by Forzanerazzurri; 10-18-2023 at 10:42 AM.. |

It could because of sweat, moisturizer, bad cleaning products, whatever. But imo, it is really disgusting to see and touch a shiny leather surface that started life matte.

All these negative comments validate why I'm reluctant to show myself wearing gloves in the car lol.
I don't give a single f@#k if anyone thinks the G8x is not glove worthy, but I don't like the idea of people thinking of me as a douchebag. Or maybe I am one... hmm... |

I would not wear them but not because of how I look. My hands get sweaty really fast with gloves on. I’d rather just wipe my wheel down every once and a while. |

But again, I'm the kind of person that hates seeing wear/tear in the interior. (I don't even put my elbows on the armrests if I'm sweaty after playing outdoor sports) That seems to be the general consensus. |

Driving gloves ALWAYS! I could care less what anybody thinks. They aren't the persons or people tasked with maintaining my cars. I've seen sweat, etc. wreck havoc on a steering wheel even after only a year (...we've all seen those steering wheels that are shiny, peeling, etc.). That would bother far more than some random person's opinion.

Just to see how many of the members are crazy like me and hardly ever touch or drive their car without driving gloves. Been a driving glove user since 2021 when I picked up my 22 g80 comp x drive. I’ve been questioned about it by many people including the police when they pulled me over lol. Anyways, I hate finger grease all over my stuff so I always wear them and am tempted to keep a box of disposable gloves for my passengers so they don’t get the oils from their skin all over my car. Any thoughts or similar feelings?[/QUOTE]

Ehhh! I brush mine as most of my steering wheels have been, or are, covered in microfiber, but I digress. I prefer the gloves, especially when BMW offers really nice ///M driving gloves and Porsche offers decent driving gloves as well.

If I’m being honest, many car enthusiasts look like that anyway, gloves or not…..just change the race/ethnicity. It’s not like most enthusiasts are fit specimens. A very small percentage are actually cool, fit dudes and dudettes. Anybody who has ever been to a car meet or track event knows this to be true. Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 10-18-2023 at 07:51 PM.. |

I drove my e90 M3 as my daily for 10 years. I never wore gloves and my steering wheel was perfect. To each his own.…
I’d laugh at it though

Feels a bit fussy to me but what you do in your car is your business, I suppose. I will say though: if your car has been outside during a very cold night, it is nice to have gloves on for a bit so as not to have to touch a cold-ass steering wheel

Driving gloves for the track? No problem. I'm here for recommendations.
For daily driving? I didn't have the moral flexibility to get into the assassin business, so I just wipe down the car every few hundred miles or so. |
