Have anyone seen if the CSL reveal at Villa d’Este will be broadcasted live by BMW or any forum or other internet outlet?
It’s pretty much only one day left in Europe… |

I could potentially see mag wheels being offered as an expensive option just like Porsche does with their RS products and Lambo does with the STO. Ferrari offers carbon wheels albeit at en eye watering premium. Ferrari and McLaren offer titanium wheel bolts so I assumed they could be on the table for the CSL. I wasn't aware of the sheering issue…. might have something to do with the quality of the product (or weight/inertia of the vehicle)?
It ultimately comes down to price point and I don't see BMW reaching for a level where they could bake in the price of these bits into the MSRP. |

BMW did offer carbon wheels (partially carbon) on the 2016 GTS but it was very expensive and did not provide that much weight savings so I highly doubt it's going to come back.
As far as weight savings and querks here are my predictions - carbon hood - carbon/frp trunk - carbon center console/tunnel (we know it) - mandatory carbon brakes - new style lighter weight wheels - removal of some sound deadening - removal of dual zone climate (we know it) - push button start but no comfort access outside vehicle - no sunroof option (obvious) - rear seat delete (we know it but mandatory or option of regular carbon seats with backseats ? - full race fixed buckets (mandatory or option) my guess is option $$ - lightweight rear glass (really doubtfully) - lightweight exhaust - bigger rolls bars combined with better tuned suspension (maybe stiffer springs) - some bushings stiffer (doubtfull) - more aggressive engine/trans tune (better adapted for track duty vs street wow) Cheers

I don't think they would do CF panels but who knows As long as it does the ring in under 7:10, I'm happy with whatever materials they use

I wondered when BMW refreshes the M4 will the CSL Laser Tail Light carry over to the mid cycle refresh, and also do you guys think sense BMW only making a 1000 of the CSL, BMW will carry over some of the aesthetics and features on the regular M4

Maybe on a future special edition, but not on the regular M4.
