The M1 and M2 buttons! Sounds dumb but when I put the car in either M1 or M2 I feel like Paul walker in F&F hitting the NOS.

The id8 animations are top notch. The detailed view of the car as you drive with the wheels spinning and all the lights that correspond to what the actual car is doing is clean.

Not sure why. I haven’t coded that. Mine is a 24 G82. I can turn the car off, open my door and close the door and the music will play for about 10 minutes. Once the passenger door is open it goes off or when I lock the car. ID8 with 07/2023 update

Only I fill gas, and it's ultralight so you can shut it using the very edge and the very tip of your fingertip. The bigger problem is the gas pump nozzle handle - holding that and then later touching your steering wheel with mixed oils and grime from many hands. Yuck. Shiny steering wheels are gross to look at.

Luckily there is a solution to all this - nitrile, medical grade exam gloves. $9.99 for a pack of 100 on Amazon. I've several in my car for this and handling cleaning the windshield if needed. Great to use when washing the car too.

My favorite feature is lowering the cloth roof. Second favorite is the 500lbs of torque.

Favorite quirky feature is the ASD button. I know many don't like it, but being able to have a spirited drive in the early AM while not being the neighborhood annoyance is great.

I like how the center armrest lid stays propped up when you open it all the way. It's mildly infuriating how some cars that cost 4-5x as much don't do that, especially since the center is used more often since storage space is limited.

Dude u treat this car as if it’s some show car and one of kind. Seems a little over the top.

Using nitrile gloves is bizzare.

I think you are posting about ur own quirks and not car related ones.

The auto window roll down when pulling into parking garage. Car knows where I am and automatically rolls down window for me to scan my card to enter parking garage.

Yeah that's crazy. And the passenger door was never opened? That seems like a really dumb regression on BMW's part.

I think it’s a setting in idrive 8 to change the behavior to turn off the radio.

21 X4 M40i Audio stay on for a few minutes
22 M4C (NO idea, it is all coded up and OEM+) It shuts off as soon as I open the door. I also have it coded to never be above 10 percent volume on start-up. Anti-dazzle, all that shit coded.
24 M240 Audio stays on for a few minutes after shutting off the car, then opening the door. When the car is locked, the audio stops.

Quirks:

Odd: You cannot dim the instrument cluster independent of the middle screen and the button lights.

Hidden or did not RTFM: You have brake cooling plugs in the brake ducts that can be removed for extra cooling.

Bonus feature: If you are lonely, park by yourself anywhere and other cars will park next to you.

The best "quirk" or "Perk"...The engine. The S58 has to be one of the best engines. Not to work on mind you, but for putting down power, it seem to have a very high ceiling.
