So is it confirmed that this wheel is larger/thicker than the OEM wheel? If so, think I might put this on my list for the next mod to do.

Yes we can change it to another color or even go more extreme like we did for another G8X customer. Full alcantara with red stripe

Part of me thinks that as well but I use that function maybe 5-10 days a year at most here in Phoenix so I'm sure I could just as easily live without it.

Definitely, I lived in Phoenix for 10 years when I was stationed at Luke. It gets cold in the winter, but you can definitely live with it. I'm gonna hold off and get this one. It retains the heat function.

That one is cool but also seems to lack a real flow to it. Kind of just seems like it doesn't know if it wants to be all carbon or all alcantara and it's a poor mix of the two.

Ill probably keep the center spokes carbon. But I like the carbon top and alcantara sides. And the way my wheel is adjusted, it would be easier to get in and out if I had a flat bottom wheel.

I want to love this G80 steering wheel but man do I miss the F80 MPerformance one with LED shift lights.. It was noticeably thicker than OEM and the alcantara held up great over years.

Just call IND and ask. That's what I did. Then we sent some emails back and forth and boom.

I am having them re-wrap the m-perf wheel in full alcantara with an orange stripe at 12 o'clock. Going to be spicy.

I heard spicy colors (stripe at 12 o’clock ) will interrupt your driving. No wonder why they switch from red to light blue color by factory…(because is matching color of sky, is neutral)

But to be honest I would go the same as you….or maybe M5 CS style

I had the v1 w/ blue stripe on my f82 m4 last go around... The orange might be a bit more annoying, but I'm sure it will be fine. I have the KO interior so it's already pretty bright.

I placed the order after I watched Joe Achille's review of his g80. In his videos you can see he has a KO interior with a full alcantara wheel w/ orange stripe. Is the m5 cs wheel a direct bold on?

Joe had his steering wheel done by Jack from Royal Steering. I got my old steering wheel from him. It's not cheap but he does quality work.

Smooth move. Way too easy to slip off the original hex head while needing to apply 1,000 ft lbs to break it loose.

I haven’t seen a number. I gave it the old German torque when I did mine (removed and installed a few different times). A good tightening with a deep well socket and 1/2” drive ratchet.
