I was gonna say, my condolences.... then I saw your GT3RS post! LOL
I mean, you got the RS for spirited driving, so having a slow manual car ain't so bad after all!
Plus, I noticed the G87 aftermarket support is catching up really fast and even offer more parts than the G80/82
Have fun!

The manual S58s cars aren’t bad. The G87 is just a little too detuned. You seem well off, drive a couple thousand miles to make sure you didn’t get a lemon, and then tune it. I’m sure you’ll be happy then.

I hated it. On the drive home I realized that I made a huge mistake. Oh well.

I bought my first G82 sight-unseen, no test drive. 2 miles out of the dealership, I thought, "yes, this was a smart move".

Sold it in the crazy used car market and then a few months later decided that I just had to have another one, so I did. Kinda on a whim, but no regrets on that one either.

Oh my, the number of cars I've bought on a whim... it's shocking in hindsight. And most of them turned out to be mistakes.
Why didn’t you like the F87? I wish I had the chance to buy one new, especially a CS. Would trade my G82 for it instantly.

I was on a track with my friend in G87 and I cannot say he was lucking the power. I was getting out from him on the corner exists and on streight line. But still, it was not very fast take over and btw, I already had race chip.

If you really recognize power loss I would check times with dragy is it just feel or how your feel tranlates to numbers.

Btw: you are show-off with this porsche !!!!

Lots of understeer and just miserable ride quality. And noisy.

Example: on my usual drive home, I have a nice fast off-camber turn that I enjoy, but it's got some undulating pavement. The M2 would hop over it... every other car handles it without upset.

The G8x is just worlds better in every regard.

Exec package (Lights and useless phone charger) was the only option on that "loaded to the gills" car.

On the other hand, best BMW I've had to date...soooo sad I got rid of it...

Right - it takes time behind an M2 steering wheel to actually experience this. It's just not a well sorted chassis... it's insanely uncomfortable and the suspension is very bouncy on less than perfect roads. It's also insanely prone to oversteer where you lose a ton of confidence (it's not progressive at all). I think a lot of the people that praise this car have only driven it on perfect roads or a track... i was actually shocked BMW released a car like this... I was like this is an M car?

Yeah, nice to know it wasn't just me, thanks.

I forgot about the oversteer if you weren't careful.

And then there was that hideous engine tuning (at least with the manual transmission) that reduces power during shifts. I think BMW does it on the G8x as well, but it's not as noticeable.

It gets even more silly when I drove over the same bumps and onramps in my X3... lol it handles them better... it's like a double realization of how poor the M2 is setup.

Definitely very rich. Or like the really rich like to say, "comfortable".

Could be but there are people like this. Just like we may drop a $100 here or there on random stuff on Amazon, there are some who do the same thing with $100-$200K cars.

I did the exact same thing with previous generation. Manual F80 to M2 manual.

Needless to say, I’m back to my second G80 manual…

In the long term, this will just be a blip in your overall story.
