Finally pulled the trigger.

Well everyone,

I've finally pulled the trigger. It's been 2 weeks since getting the production # and still waiting for things to change over into the next stage.

115,500 msrp with everything all said and done. I've read the build order tracking pinned post.

I'm a BMW CCA member is it possible for me to get their rebate on a leased vehicle?

I'm doing a lease as I'll be using this with my business and that's more favorable for deductions per my accountant.

Does anyone have anything else they want to share with me or any tips that may come in handy over the next few months as well as pickup day?

Planned upgrades:
Window tint
Front grill ppf/maybe hood ppf
Something to coat/protect the ivory white interior.
Carbahn stage 2 tune with added cooling
Akrapovic titanium exhaust
Self leveling center caps
New rims(need recommendations) and I'll use the oem for winter tires probably.
Dashcam for front and back

Let me know if anyone has anymore tips for me. I'm all ears.

ColourLock new leather kit for coating your seats. Lots of great reviews from people. Still stains the seats but a quick wipe with some a wet microfiber cleans it right off after coating

I loved IOMG until I saw it in bright sunlight. Just a little toooooooooooo teal/aqua green for me. The way it looks in dark lighting is perfect. I hope to see pics of yours in a few months!

I looked at so many blue shades as well, and at first was going Laguna Seca, but knew it was going to be popular and opted against it. Dark Emerald over Ivory will be sick.

You can deduct all lease payments and actual expenses if the car is used 100% for business. On that price, lease payments will probably exceed $20,400 in the first year, which is the cap for bonus depreciation and will exceed the declining depreciation in the years 2 and 3. Also, if you're planning to keep the car for 2-3 years, you will have to recapture the depreciated costs if you sell before the full depreciation, which will happen probably in 10 years at the price you ordered. I assume your accountant calculated the costs, then he seems to be right, lease is more convenient. However, to be used for business, options must be "Ordinary and Necessary". CCB and Custom order color are neither, for example. Actually, none of the options except, Executive & Parking Pks, Ventilated Seats (comfort for $350) and the Drive recorder (safety + possible insurance discount) are Ordinary and Necessary. But that's up to your accountant how to treat the business use of a car. And I don't know what kind of business you're in. If it's Content Creation or Motorsport related and those options help generate income, then it might be OK.

You are getting a Drive Recorder, you don't need dashcams. Unless they are for a different purpose

I recommend getting a Drive Recorder, you don't need dashcams, the car has 4 cameras if you got a Parking Package. Some people don't get it, because the front camera "kills the look" especially with a lighter exterior color. Then yes, need dashcams.
I "fully optioned" the car. I purposefully avoided carbon buckets, and the Alcantara steering wheel because I have wide shoulders and prefer comfort over holding me in the seat. I also prefer the feel of leather to Alcantara.

So I believe it has the drive recorder. I thought the drive recording was for race stats and etc. I didn't know it had actual cameras like the Teslas do? Are they high quality and would I still benefit from a blackvue 970ds 2 channel for a different angle or the IR for interior view if someone breaks in?

Omg 😱🥲🤤

I've never seen one in person and the configurator doesn't do it justice. I love the look in direct sun and in the shade it appears more black which is what i wanted. Nice car!!! Thank you for sharing!!

Got any photos of you in motion with it?

Thank you for confirming!! Are you an accountant or in the adjacent field? I've been telling people I'm a realtor but I guess I've been too private.

I'm going to use the car for YouTube and plan to start posting videos here in the next couple weeks of various projects and etc.

I may use it for 10% personal use here and there but I have another car for day to day stuff. I plan to film any and every drive to meets, community events, and to the dealer/mechanic, as well as track. Then create content from there. I'm looking for something to bring more traction to my channel and I'm looking for something that's more repeatable than building some crazy house add on every video, because that's what I tried this summer and it's was exhausting.

I edited my response multiple times you quoted different iterations of it. I'm not an accountant, so please don't treat what I said as a fact. I know the stuff I know at the best of my ability and from my consulting with professionals. A professional CPA will give you the best advice.

Thanks, you'll love yours. It got a lot of attention at the dealership.

Not rolling pics yet, but hoping for a sunny day this week to take some better shots.

Congrats. Assuming you're in Charlotte, NC, are you considering a Performance Center Delivery? I just did it last month and it's a hoot.

I was considering it. I figured I'd have more time to film the car and "unwrap" it in the dealership though. Plus the Performance delivery adds 2 more weeks or so onto pickup date. I'll have to see based off the time of year and etc. I don't want to miss too much of spring and being able to film it.

It definitely does add a little more time to the delivery. That's cool that you'll spend some time filming the delivery. PCD might give you an opportunity get even more footage though? They delivered me the car into my own personal fancy garage bay, and we spent a ton of time there. I should do a more detailed post about the day because I haven't seen one here, but basically, 8am to noon you drive a corporate M3, and they let you sling the hell out of it, do the BMW museum and then factory tour (no photo/video allowed in the factory but everywhere else, including during your driving of their M3 you can shoot as much as you want), and then XDrive SUV demonstration through their off road course.

Lunch for an hour and then at 1pm they brought me to my car. Pictures below, it was in its own dedicated bay with a few comfy chairs, and it was just me and the BMW specialist who spent a ton of time with me showing me the car. We were in there for about an hour, but I'm sure if I said I wanted to take 2 hours and do all kinds of filming and pictures, he would be totally fine with that. Even after we pulled it out of the garage, he was like "stay as long as you want, feel free to drive it over to take video of it next to the track cars, etc." They were super chill. Just food for thought. Either way, def post video once you take delivery/link to other stuff you've created.

That's beautiful what color is that? Was it on a weekday or weekend? It'd be easier for me to choose PCD if it's on a weekend.

Black Sapphire Metallic with Silver 825m wheels. Super happy with it. Unfortunately I think they only have the option to do PCD during the week.

Silver wheels look nice, classic. Especially with black and tartufo. This is a classic bimmer combo. And manual. What else would one desire! Congratulations!
