Hey all,

Do you know the cost at a service center for plugs?

BMW recently moved to a subscription pricing model, it's 1c per spark.

who knows what ridiculous price service centers are charging but you can buy them for around $18 each online.

Remember the factory maintenance plan covers the first spark plug change in 36k miles.

I think they're about £600 for the set in the UK including tax!

Or 3 years. My dealer bundled the 3 year service early into the brake fluid flush service and I had my spark plugs replaced at 21K miles.

My Porsche dealer will delay spark plug replacement if the mileage is low at the three year mark. Spark plugs unlike fluids don’t degrade with time.

But you can't make them to change it at least once within 3 year mark? If so then all dealers will deny doing it and their excuse can simply be "it's not necessary as we deem"

Oh they’ll do it, but they give you the option to not do it as it’s not 100% necessary if your mileage is low. Porsche only includes the first oil change and the rest you pay out of pocket.

BMW dealers would never say that because it’s free for the owner and BMW reimburses the dealership for the work. I would also think that most G8x are either very close or over the change mileage at three years whereas most 911/718 Porsche’s at three years will probably still be under 10k miles.

My dealer did the same thing, slightly below 20k. I was surprised as the service experience isn't what it used to be at our local dealer.
