Same here. When I drove the auto, I always/need to have coffee with me. Manual, I can drive 4 hrs non stop without coffee and I am smiling. The only reason I need to stop is washroom break

I just finished a 190 mile run with the 8ZF-RWD car. 90% on the interstate (70 limit 80-85 actual traffic flow) where if I was driving the 5MT Cobra, 6MT Jeep or 5MT Ranger for that 90% I most likely would have shifted less times then I have fingers on my right hand.

Would have some 1st to 3rd to 4th or 5th during the other 10% which is local traffic in 45 to 55 zones.

MT's are fun to play with but the reality of actual required shifting is not all that frequent.

Punching the throttle from a stop or a very low speeds and turning in wet conditions will be fixed through self correcting Darwinism.

Wonder why so many people who drive a MT feel like they are the greatest drivers in the land. Time when I got my first drivers license you need to be in the Oldsmobile & up class to get an standard equipment Hydromantic.

Everybody else a great majority of the driving public, man or women, young or old, drove a 3 on the tree or a 4 on the floor. Those that could not option the 4 MT in cars like a 409 or GTO had to make do with a 3 on the floor.
