Got the VIN#!!! What is next??

I just saw my G82 already has the VIN # and the estimated production finish time is Jan 17th. My scheduled production date is WEEK 2. Is there anyone who knows why my order was locked in so early? Whether it means my car will finish production earlier? and the estimated delivery time?

Unless you get super lucky expect to wait months. Myself and other people from build week 44 have been stuck in QC for nearly 1.5 months.

Production week is by when its actually complete. So the vehicle would enter production a week or two before. It's a little early as the factory is shut down for a few weeks later this month.

These threads keep popping up and it’s so sad to watch these peoples excitement get crushed when they hear that a vin number or production being completed means nothing anymore.

Even once your car is completed you still have months to go before you will see it my friend. Good luck.

I actually got a bit worried as my car entered production today / got a vin. When I initially ordered I was told months for allocation and months for production to start and then months for waiting. I ordered 3 weeks ago and looks like it's a bit ahead of schedule. It's winter time and garage is full and need new one built in spring. I for one won't mind if it shows up late. Let's say April / may

OP is in MIAMI, a major market, which has priority. I bet it comes in quicker than most. I ordered my car 11/16, got an allocation, VIN and production number the same day. Went in to production 11/21, and went to Quality Check on 12/2. As of 12/15 it's on a boat from Germany. OP might get lucky like me, given Los Angeles is also a major market.

I don’t think south Florida gets any priority. I’ve been in QC since 11/8 and still stuck there. Maybe it’s the luck of the draw. There are others here that are also in QC for a long time from my area.

Could be the dealer and even comes down to the CA if they are high volume sellers. BMW knows who their top sellers are and they will take care of them because they know who breads their butter.

Let us know how this goes, maybe you're lucky or maybe it sits on the dock stateside at a VPC instead. Seems like units just produced *might* be more complete as in finished.
