The clear coat on the carbon fiber bits get micro-scratches on them if you look at them funny. Both on the interior and exterior.
I had a brand new never-installed M-Performance rear winglet that had clear coat imperfections on it, and acquired new ones sitting inside a clean plastic bag.
If you want the CF clear coat to remain flawless and glossy, you need to get proper protection on the surface. This applies to even the CF trim on the dash and center console.
